LRS'S NEW RULES

There is a issue,

I am not going to give specifics, no need it letting those that dont know, the knowledge as to how to do it, but it does exist, and the c4get was the package that enabled it. That is all i will say.

in the mean time, there is a easy fix for it. reference the LORDS forums for the details and comments

2) not going to go 8h , ever!!!!
3) reinstate handshake rule
4) problem solved for the ~LRS~ anyway

Its really a simple decision for me, after being a veteran of the game, since its inception, I have seen all that has attempted to soil the game, this problem isnt new, it is just reborn, so the quickest rememdy to it is to re-enact the "handshake" rule of play, outlined as follows,

After several years of peace in the servers, the "cheaters" have once again found a way to violate a game cherished amoung a minority as a favorite. While to the newbies, this might seem like a devistating event, actually it is not, for the OLDIES in the game, this has been around awhile, just wearing a different cloak, so till there is a resolution to it, the easiest way to protect against it is to go back to the "HAND SHAKE" of the old days. The ~LRS~ has reenacted this policy in all future matchs. For reference, this is the way it works.

Both teams enter the server.

when all players are in, ALL players meet at WP!, NO SHOOTING!
the "officer on deck" for both squads will test, one by one, each member of the opposing team, verifying 3h .
after this is completed, both teams return to base and game is restarted.
If at any point during the game, a players drops connection, for any reason, they are NOT allowed to reenter the game!!!!!!!!
Once the game is finished , the dropped player can rejoin and be retested.
The only exception to this rule is if there are more than one player drop from the server due to sys dump, or internet connection issues, at which time a game restart can be called for and a restart done.
While this might seem time consuming, it actually can be done in only a few minutes with all players complying to the rule.
Exception notes: as a LORDS member squad, and in action to our code of conduct, it is expected for all squads to either restart a game, or drop a player, if the opponent should lose one during a game, this is a gentlemans rule. and the squad with the most players has the choice of dropping one player, or restarting the game.



Untill such time as a fix has been verified for this bug, this will be the policy of the ~LRS~ and any squad wishing to match will be expected to comply, or the results will be considered a forfiet on their part.

you obviously missed the part about "testing at a farp and the subject refarping before the test" to prevent the damage that might occure during travel time to the test spot, you will note, I never said anyone would intentially damage themselves before the test.

Ps it is your creation, and a good one at that, your intentions were honerable, to say the least, I am not critisising you, nor your work, you did a great job and hats off to you, but, in truth, the truth must be said, I will not, nor choose to , delcare how to manipulate your program, what I will say, is "someone has", and that someone has shared it, Please do not misunderstand me, I think that EVERYTHING .... you have done has been to better the C4 community and enviroment, and it really pains me to give you this news, I HAVE NO DOUBT, it had noting to do with you, or you intentions, it was the cheaters and hackers, that were able to take your program and modify it to suit their needs. despite your efforts to make things cool, easy, and overall pleasing to the community, someone, somewhere, has been able to build on your creation, and turn it into a mutant that creates a 8h player.

Again, I will NOT give out the hows and whys, that would be stupid!!!!!

I have stated facts, AE, 8H auto, will not stop the 8h enemy, PERIOD!

this is one of those times that ALL must come together for the betterment of the whole, time will tell, I guess.

I dont think AV's post is in defience, i think that he was mearly pointing out a way round the hand shake idea that thease cheaters could use!!

But a re-farp before the test does fix this!!

And really?? does the 8h AP in the host manager have a work around?? I played with it and tested it in my own server and it worked fine in fact i forgot to change myself back to 3h one time then went to a *CFS* server as 8h DOH!! and the 8h AP workad fine in boath cases lol

it is a work in progress, trying to bring a quick resoluton to the problem at hand, I have modified it to fit your issue, and a very good one at that, hopefully with more imput like yours, we will have resolution to enact in a very short time.

First and foremost, what needs to be confirmed is if AE(autoexplode) and 8H-AP are both compromised. Each functions differently, and I request you Spikeman(or anybody with knowledge) get with Avenger, and test this "cheat" on a 8HAP server(the results to be posted here). There has been no confirmation that 8HAP has been bypassed, and again, if either of the C4GET programs(Player-Manager and Host-Manager) have been shown to enable one to fly 8H in a 3H server, then the only way to attempt to fix it is to know how the "cheat" works. Avenger needs the information if it is valid. The fact that you wont even attempt to HELP him with this issue, when you havent even run 8HAP on a server, brings more issues to the table than the cheat you mention.

And I do see your comment "and yet some are defiant of my ideas" as a direct attack on Avenger. You have no idea how much work and effort has been put into this by him. And to suggest that his "defiance" is anything but an honest attempt to keep 8H'rs out of the servers. Prove to him that you can bypass 8H-AP, help him to correct any security issues. You sure dont have any claims against him or CFS cheating, we've never won a match against LRS, your server or ours.

I look forward to hearing about your cooperation with Avenger to resolve this issue for the benefit of the community as a whole, not another "rule" or "regulation" dictated by you or the LRS /LORDS Police.

I have been reading through all thease posts on all the diffrent forums!! and its really bad news but i do have a question??

This person has got past the 8h blocker that "inso" made for us I wonder if its the same case for the 8H AP that Avenger made, as far as i understand it boath of thease programs work in diffrent ways!!

And if he gets past one he might not be able to get past the other, maby thats why he asked you and not any *CFS* for a test??

I have no problems with you Spike, or LRS, just to resolve the issue at hand...and if I took your reply to Avenger out of context, well my bad. It seems I wasnt the only one who read your post the same way? Lets fix the problem, not create more. I think CFS and LRS can have a great relationship, we dont always see eye to eye, but both have a love for this game like no other. Help him to resolve this, so we can all fly 3H and be happy.

eehem Avenger, it's not that im too impatient, but will there be a date of finish for the new prob?

getting serious now, i think all the major squads can trust each other and the trust will be only higher if both competing squads decide to handshake and the result of that handshake is, that there is no 8her on board.
to speak here for FWD, i do not see any necessary for handshaking any squad we usually play and played, but will any time agree to make handshakes at the begin of each game as it will confirm the trust between us and the other squad.

in the meantime everyone with further knowledge should feel highly encouraged to contact Avenger*CFS* ASAP and give him all the info he needs.
i assume Avenger to have no problems with email from people using an alias in this matter - just in case some do not want to let him know their name or so.

Well i dont care if people need to fly 8H to win but my squad like most flies for honor and any member found flying 8H will be kicked out from CoN for bringing dishonor and distrust to ALL squads who fly 3H.

That Policy will stand till theres a 100% support for all to fly 8H.

I have alot of friends in the skies of C4 and i know they all fly 3H and i know that they do so not for its the right thing or because they have to by rules we fly 3H as a way to take ourselves to that other level of game play that the pilots who fly 8H missout on.

When it comes to the 8H issue, my personal opinion is that when " STUFF"
happenings my answer is Test me anytime,Spikes' idea, ok Np will do to keep the peace.I will not play matches 8H for anyone,( or fly for fun),I don't care who it is,who they are, or what their reasons are.End of discussion for me.
