Set up an area trigger. Go to the General properties box for that area. Put a check beside and the Number 80 in the Muscic (var4) boxes. Don't know anymore reference numbers and I'm not sure if this works in multiplayer.

right on
realize legalize MMJ is ok
To choose the music set you wish to play - after setting up the area triggers with the (Var4)=80 setting:
Go to Edit->General Information. In the dialogue box that opens, look in the Global Effects at the bottom center. In the Music box enter the number of the set you wish to play.
I've run through 20.. and these are the ones that worked for me.
2-3-4-6-8-(10 & 11sounded the same)-13-14-16-17-18-19-20

Setting the Area Triggers music attribute of (Var4) to 80
Opening the Edit ->General Information dialogue box.
Selecting the music set in the Global Effects
If you look in the GAME.WAC you'll see a lot of info there, and then also check some of the WAC files for SP maps like SPBHD_03.WAC towards the bottom you'll see a lot of info to specific Dialogs.
If it's text you want to add to your map, I copied this from Smokin's post at DFA:
YES use a WAC to add text to your map
just put something like this in a WAC file
if past(5) and not past(6) then
text("put your text here")
endif
the (#) is how many seconds into the game before the text appears.
It appears that there are 'levels' to the music. The first level is triggered by the entrance into the area triggers with their Var4 = 80. To 'step up' or change the music's level or variation, you may add another set of area triggers with the Var4 set to 81, another at 82... and so on... I have included a small map with the mission file to 'test' the different soundsets and their 'subsets' activated by using this.
Simply stay in the area long enough to get a feel for the music and then follow the arrows into the next 'layer'... the music will change. The map contains enough triggers for 4 changes... there may be more.
It should be noted that once a musical increment has been triggered, it will not revert back to the original music - at least to my knowledge. WAC file adjustments may do this...currently I do not know.
Edited to Add: Download the sample mission from here.
Thanks for the tips Vlad.

your Zip file says its a invalid archive
when i tried to unzip it
i tried 3 times
If right clicking and saving won't do it please try here.
That is the same file... let me know.
thx Bluetiereign
i was going nuts
because i tried making a map like yours
befor i knew about yours
the only difference was you used sound 14 i think
i was using 2 well sound 2 doenst change very much if at all
then i tried sound 8 it has changes in it
i guess some of the music dont change
as much as others do much
Thankx Bluetiereign.
NL did a great job on the sounds/music on this one.
Glad I could help. The newer map requires less running and includes a WAC file with a few enviromental changes and events..
Great demonstration, love the text telling you what's taking place as it's happening.
Hello guys! I have joined this perfect forum today and this is my first post .
I got interested in map making after i finished BHD. It is been 3 days since i started spending time with maps and i can create a map with full of actions (you know what i mean). Anyway i am trying to say that i am eager at this. But i still could not add music to my map! I started playing with wac files, adding dialogs and much more but this music kills me ! Can you help ?
I can't add music!..
Created a map with flat terrain. Added player marker (good: blue team). created an "area 1". Set this area around the tree that stands just in front of player start marker. Checked area 1's musicvar4 box and typed 80. Saved, exported. In game, player goes to tree and nothing happens. I even added a text by wac file.
if ssnloc(10000,1) and never() then
text("Music starts!")
endif
What is wrong ?
Thank you.
Welcome to the forums. Be sure you are using an 'unlocked' med. Otherwise, I'll look into it this weekend and see whats up.
Okay, thanks.
I am using the original one that came with the game. I don't have any info about my MED.
