ArchAngel I seem to be the resident cop here so here goes.... The shells (shotgun) contain 9 rubber pellets. They are most effective at close range 15-20 yds at the most. After that the pellets start to spread and get away from the largest available mass (torso) They then can end up striking the face. If it hit her juggular it could've killed her. It's called Less Lethal!!!
