Virtual cd rom

Will virtual cd rom give me better proformance in c4 is it a big enough differance. I am using a cable modem with a 128mbnvidiaGeForce4 and an 80 gb hard drive, and still get laggy

none at all.

if you have a full install, the game only verifies the cd, it doesn't read from the cd beyond that. you can even replace the executable with a "fixed" exe that skips that process so you don't need to have the cd inserted to play.

there may be things you can do that will decrease (not eliminate) lag. but you will need to be specific in describing when you experience it.

how much ram ? how many players online ? what kind of connection to the internet ? are several players using weapons at the same time, possibly taxing your sound card as well ?

as with C4 all of n/l games are lag monster's so the more ram ya have the faster the proseser and of course the vid card lol the better your game experince will b. also unsure if C4 has problems with this but the df serie's dose if the server is only as fast as the slowest connection to the game . so what is your compleate puter spec's and we can help ya from there what speed how much ram vid card sound card internet conn .
