I was on the DSS server and this person kept telling others not to shoot from behind when people are fighting - it wasn't his server.
I was wondering is this typical DM - basically played like duel modes with hydras or was he just making his own rules up?
I am used to Quake 3 where anything goes. Of course, I am flexible, just wondering what the true rules are.

I don't have a permanent answer to your question quiet but on the servers I've played on it was basically do what it takes to kill the enemy. I'm not completely sure what its meant by not "shooting from behind" but it seems to me he was making up his own rules. If I'm engaged in combat with an enemy and a team mate comes up behind and blows him out of the sky then I just put up the high thumb and move on to the next kill. If you happen to find any common rules to playing then by all means share them with us.
If you can get behind mmm blast mm but good. unless the host dont allow it, then find another room

if it's bad to shoot em in the a$$, find another room to play in!

i am in DSS and DSS members have there OWN code of conduct while on DSS servers BUT nothing like dont shoot from behind . . .
if i get behind someone it is the EASIEST kill there is . . . just 3 or 4 stingers and boom i fire and just turn and go the other way for more prey . . .
in fact it is a GREAT skill of mine to find people and determin where they are by sound and sneak up on there rear . . . most people do say i am a GHOST in this manner. . . i attack and try to do it with as little fire on myself.
if you can let me know who it was (if a dss member) i can look into it . . . i DO know that DSS members are not supose to farp kill EVER on a DSS server . . . but then again that is just for DSS.
