I was searching for any new info on Nova's new title "Angel Falls" and found an article on Wikipedia on the subject and some leaked screens. Of course this isn't new news but still kind of interesting reading if anyone is interested.

Delta Force: Angel Falls (other names, Delta Force: Black Ops, and Delta Force: Cuba) is an upcoming first-person shooter for numerous platforms by NovaLogic. It is rumored to be expected for multiple platforms, and is expected some time around Christmas 2008. Novalogic's previous title was Delta Force: Xtreme, which was released April 2005.

Speculation
Delta Force: Angel Falls has been rumored to be centered around countries such as Cuba, and South America. Additionally, Angel Falls is also the name of the highest free-falling waterfall, which is located in Venezuela, South America. The Angel Falls cover has also been said to have a faint outline of South America, which may signify that the game is centered around South America.

According to a very recent interview, the game is being developed on a completely new engine, that is similar to Crysis's graphics. Other features were explained such as the ability to change terrains on the fly, and its setting being in a "spirit" similar to Delta Force: Black Hawk Down's - as opposed to Joint Operations/Delta Force: Xtreme's.

Angel Falls (image) located on the welcome/splash page on the Novalogic site. Two other splash pictures were spotted, such as one that was similar in appearance to the "Angel Falls" poster - but instead, saying "Black Ops". The other one seen was an image of Delta Operators in Cuba (with HK 416 weapons, and MH-6 Little Bird helicopters), with the title "Delta Force CUBA!".

Some time early 2007, NovaLogic had "accidentally" leaked images coming from what was to be rumored their latest title. Many people were disappointed at these screenshots due to the fact they clearly showed "recycled" items from previous titles - although NovaLogic responded by explaining that the screenshots were from ongoing R&D, with placeholder assets, and does not show what the game is necessarily about.

Other names were found to be registered in the past, such as Operation Acid Gambit, The Unit, Delta Force: Cuba Libre, and Delta Force: Black Ops, to name several.

Well it looks like they are in or about to be in the beta stage for Angel Falls.

I know it's not much but at least it shows a little progress on Novas part. I wouldn't count on the Christmas release that was speculated on a while back though.

Description

Set in the north-west region of Central America (near future in Colombia & Venezuela) “Delta Force: Angel Falls” takes the player to the rural, sparsely populated, jungle areas of this exotic locale. Avoiding the over-exposed Middle Eastern settings; the South American environment provides a premise which is naturally beautiful and full of new millennium conflicts.

Marginal governments, involved in local expansionism, continually scuffle with one another and with major global powers. Complicating the setting, drug cartels have evolved beyond money and violencedriven entities to political forces rivaling established governments. Influenced by current events, the game is both topical and novel.

The sometimes local philosophy of “your enemy is my friend and your friend is my enemy” gives rise to a multitude of ever-changing alliances and conflicts which drive the game’s rapid action and easy-to-digest back-story. The culmination of the conflict takes place in the Angel Falls area of Venezuela providing both a spectacular setting and a surprise ending.

The screenies look pretty good. A lot different then the ones I had posted for sure. Hoping your will be able to configure your character to make him unique from other players, that seems to be a popular thing now in games.
