It’s really a shame it has come to this, as this is a wonderful game. So many players have come and gone, some of the best people I have meet has been on the internet playing Comanche 4. We just lost one of the best. And although I did not know him, he did much for Comanche 4.
I know that there is no way this game can be fixed the way it is, our best hope was Inso DSS, but, he also give up. He was trying to fix something that to many pilots did not want fixed because it would have meant the end of a lot of their cheats and the end of Host manager, yes the host manager was good for a while, but now it’s used on servers for the benefit of the squad that is running it, it’s been altered, changed, hacked, reprogrammed, fixed or whatever you want to call it for that squads benefit. We now have a server that can count the Stingers you fire and how fast. I like the counting part, if it could count how many Stingers where fired since the last time you farped, then I think it would be good for something. Why not put all that now how into fixing the /td, H8, long range stingers, invis, 500 stingers, cabling, height, health, fog maps, flying underground, under water, or is that not to your Squads advantage ?
I know you guys had a field day on SAI, about /td. However, I can honestly say, SAI never used /td or any other cheat in a match. I think we have kicked more Pilots out of SAI for cheating than any other squad out there. I remember one pilot that was kicked out and another squad took him in knowing he was kicked out of SAI. A week later that squad was unbeatable. When I confronted that squad CO, he told me, “oh, we all have the new P4 computers now”. Sure you do. That was back when Intel came out with the p4. That’s when the SAI squad stopped playing in the C4 League.
We have an 8H server up and will also allow the use of /td on it, this is not so that SAI will have an advantage, but to try to even the playing field. There are to many pilots that use /td or something very similar and an 8h cheat to get by the Host Manager, don't tell me how good your sound card or your head set is, lol. It is an open server for all, we pay for it and will run anything that is on the c4 disk, if we do run something other than 8h or /td we will let you know. If you do not like this then don't play on our server, and don't come in complaining about someone being 8h or using /td. But if you do come in using other cheats, long range stingers, health or anything else we think is a cheat, you will be punted or banned and don't say, prove it, we don't have to. And we do not want to password the server to keep players out, there are too many pilots that we enjoy playing with. It should make no difference if you are playing 1, 3 or 8h as long as you are all the same, if you can play 3h you can play 8h, unless you need a cheat to get around 3h where you have an advantage, the same goes for /td. If we are all using /td what’s the difference? We just want all pilots to have an even playing field.
If anyone can come up with any fixes for these cheats the SAI server will be changed. And as far as SAI going anywhere, we have been here too long to leave now. We slow down for the summer months - too much other stuff to do. We will be back in force in the fall.
