Forum and Portal Upgrade

Both the Portal CMS and vBulletin were upgraded this weekend. Please let me know if you have any problems.

New Key features with this upgrade:

Reputation has been added. You may give a user reputation points if you find their post or posts relevent and useful ( or take away points for the other end of the spectrum ). As a user's reputation grows - the points they give to another user when giving points - increases. Users without a proven reputation - basically those that do not participate or do nothing but 'make noise' - will not be able to give or take points to another user.

Similiar Threads has been added. When you find a thread with information containing material that interests you, additional threads pertaining to the same subject can be found at the bottom of the page.

Love that feature, "Similar Threads". Seen that on a site somewhere and thought it was a great helper. Nice on the upgrades. What will the "Reputation" points gain you - Status?

No, reputation does not affect a person's status or rank. It is an additional tool made available for new arrivals to the forums to get a better understanding of the person(s) responding to their questions - or simply posting.

As of late, and not just in these forums, it seems that even with multiple posts, a senior rank or sensible answers - noobs feel that they have the right to say whatever to whomever.

Of course, it works both ways. Answers by someone with little or no reputation may clue the new member that they may wish to pursue the matter a little further - while also serving as an additional 'here's your sign' for helping the newly arrived understand why poor attitudes and/or smarting off might get them in hot water with everyone else in here.

BTW, that number behind the words 'Rep Power' is the number of points that the person can give or take away with each rating. i.e.: While my reputation as an ass around here has earned me the reputation of being 'infamous around these parts', with one vote, I can add or take away 25 reputation points.

Currently, everyone but admins are limited to giving only 3 reputation votes a day. As you read an archived answer that 'clears things up' or someone posts an insightful perspective on something, feel free to 'add to their reputation'. I'm hoping everyone will use it wisely.

What are you tryin to say here Timmer, that i dont spend enough time here or my comments are in full trucker effect mode like i talk on the CB or that it was time to throw out that old Hp 7980 and get a new pc,

Well boys and girls. the old PC is gone , and now runnin a dual Amd athlon 3800 . yes timmer with a new hard drive,(scrubed /reformated) the other 1 was screwed. And thx.s for your help on that issue to bro...........friggin worm destroyed the OS.

My CB gets turned off when i shut the rig down.

Unfortunally . I can't spend as much time here , as i would like, But i do check in regularly and see what is up, and will continue to do so.

As for gaming . just installed BF2 and task force dagger So let me know the servers your all at and see you online .

And yes TIMMER gets my vote on a raise.

Now i know something weird is going on.

Charger . I have lost all of my info on the bf2 site , yes very irresponsible of me , will see if i remember, but dont think i got that much time left.....hehehehehe..................and what updates i need / dont need
