    What The Heck ?

    Hi guys....
Again, i've had to do a re-format because of a Beta app from M/S that I agreed to test (a complete phuk up).
I have reinstalled Comanche 4 and now find that my ping times are way above what they should be. ie: [before re-format = EFA Server = 47ms] [after re-format = EFA Server = 124ms] these are averages.
I have been to 'PC Pitstop' and 'Speakeasy' and according to them the ping times of my PC are normal or better. I have also pinged FUN's website in Germany, where the EFA Server is based, and my ping to them is averaging 40ms.
I am also getting probs with TS2 (which may be related!) where TS2 goes down for about 30 secs after being connected for 5 mins or so. I originally thought this was down to my ISP & the cable modem they supplied, but after calling out their engineer to boost the modem signal (which is now at the maximum setting for it [+0.5db]) I am still losing the connection. Am I getting hacked?! if so what can I do about it? or do I buy a new copy of C4?
Someone gimme a clew* here plze?

Have you run an adware/spyware scan. At one time I had one piece of adware on my machine that tripled my ping times in C4. Think it took three different scanners to find it.

Spyware or Viruses can get into your boot sector... and screw things up, even after a rebuild. You might try a quick rebuild of the MBR.

And not the same LAN card either.. meaning..

I have had LAN cards go haywire and start sending so much noise through the system... it would not boot until the card was disabled/removed.
