    Creating WAC files in DFBHD

I have been building maps in DFBHD and DFBHD TS for some time but I have never created a WAC file but now I am ready to give it a go. I am wondering if there are any tutorials or something out there that can help!

    Try here.

You should extract the WAC files from BHD/TS and have a look at them.. that is also a big help. They open with notepad.

Sound Enviroment - includes some music and enviroment changes.

When you get the wac files out of the pff. Find the Kyle .wac, it shows most of the wac script and gives a def of what they do.

Also since Nile for JOTR did not have working events. All the events where done with wac commands. Look over the forums for JOTR map making and you will find a lot of info on wac commands. The ones that work in BHD will be of use to you.

OK I have a working WAC file. Now for the big question. Will this work for multiplayer maps?

It depends on the script and what it does. As an example if you use wac commands to move vehicles it would work. If you set an env such as move fog or fog color it won't. Only the players with the wac file will see it.

Also if your going to get in to this more, sooner or later you will want a trigger that players with out the wac file can set. Use ssnride for that. As an example I have a dm map with booby traps that players trigger to blow them selves up.

The ssn ride trigger is a organic trigger, any time either ai or a human player stands on the object you set as the trigger. It will trigger what ever event it is linked to.
