So is this an HTML based website, or are you making a template for a php or phpbb site ?
It looks very nice. I prefer a template that covers the entire browser - which makes banner making a little harder ( to allow for different resolutions )
its only my second template made so i will fix some stuff
like resolution changes theres a way of doing it so it autro changes
will figure it one day
Well... here is a small html template of a banner for you to play with. I built this rather quickly - so it is simple. The center is the key for the 'auto size' - at only 5 pixels wide --- but 100% coverage. Put all three files on your desktop and open it. Try resizing your browser - you'll see the 'auto size' happening.
You are probably way ahead of this - but someone may be able to use it sometime..so I thought I'd throw it out there...lol.![]()
Hey guys. I was thinking of making a Template for my Squad (THC) at www.thcsquad.com . But wanted to know for sure if you could make one for a PHP site? and if so. I can make the pic, Not so sure of how I would get the links to work?. such as (downloads, future matches, weblinks, forums) etc... Thx, Leathal.
The beauty of php and templates for them... it changes nothing but the appearance. If your links work now... they will work after you make a new template.Originally Posted by Leathal

RGR, Thx. So I just Make a design basically. write the words Downloads, Forums, etc... and they will work? or just make the design, upload it. and after that the links will be in the place they are already?. correct me please if i am wrong, Thx. Leathal.
No, you don't worry about the 'content'... links, images, words... any of that. All you worry about is appearence... such as colors, banner and borders.
If you go to our front page and change your theme... check out what changes... this is what you will be changing.
I'll tell you leathal... you are stepping into a big task. In addition to graphics... you are likely going to be needing to edit some css. I installed the thc site.. and I think you guys are using phpnuke... though, I'm not sure - I can't remember. It would be good for you to go to a phpnuke site that deals in themes and get some info there. Download a theme or two and do some reverse engineering - looking to see what you might change and/or make. They might even have some theme (template) making tools.
Good luck - and don't get discouraged.. it probably won't happen over night. If it does.. feel free to drop in and give me a pointer or two...lol.
rgr, I think it is PHP Nuke as well, You also installed AoC's PHP Nuke. and i thank you for that, that squad site is now IFS's squads site.. anyways thanks!, Ill look into it. oh and what are CSS?
CSS - cascading style sheets. incredibly powerful script for the 'layout' of your pages. hint: download firefox and the css editor plugin - you can do css editing 'on the fly'. however... check your changes with Internet Explorer... IE tends to 'read' and load pages differently than good ol' firefox. You can usually find a compromise that will give you a decent appearance in both.Originally Posted by Leathal
Cool, I downloaded FireFox a while back. Is there a way where you can see all the plugins you can download? If so I'd like to know. And thanks for explaining!![]()
Firefox is Mozilla..check here.
