You don't need the CD to play, After you set up your account on the CD key #. You just have to log in to Nova to play. One disk per pc even on lan games.
I have a question about the key. I had been purchasing Novalogic products since I received Delta Force for Christmas back in 1998 (I was going by the name Mr. Megadeath in the LOD clan). I had purchased Joint Operations and have been playing it online everynight. I recently purchased the exp pack escalation and had been playing that online also. This Christmas I was given a 180 GB HD for a present and want to move all of my files to the new HD. Some items I will have to reinstall which is no biggie. But when I went to install Joint Ops I was unable to find my game disk which has my serial number, my office literally has hundreds of games and cd's for fun and work and I have not been able to find the case with the disk. I break down all my boxes and store them in another box so they don't get damaged. Is there a way I can xfer the info to the new HD? I do not want anybody thinking I want a key or anything that will somewhat look like piracy. I had already done a file and settings xfer for XP, and I also xfered other misc files. Now we all know that we need the key to play online but is there a way to get that info to the other HD without doing a image clone? Copy reg entries or something? I'm using the old 40GB HD for now to just play Joint Ops which is a pain because I don't have the ext enclosure yet and need to crack open the case and swap the ribbon cable and pwr. I have the new 180 GB and another 80 GB so that is why I want to xfer everything so I can wipe out that old 40GBhd to use just for storage in an external enclosure. Any help would be great. The 180 HD is going to be the primary HD, and the 80 will be the secondary. Any help would be great.

Novaworld keeps your CD KEY tucked away... ' In a secure place within NovaWorld '. The only option I can think of is logging in to NW and PM'ing one of the Admins with your situation to see if they could help you out. The other option is to mail them.. and request the info be sent to the email address you use for your NW account.
I did a quick regedit search for my CD KEY in the registry on my gaming drive - and was unable to find it. I did another in just the directory to no avail also. Sorry I can't help you any more than this.
I would strongly suggest finding that case and use a marker to permantly put the CD KEY on the label side of the CD or the sleeve that holds the disc - ( you use the same 'filing' system of the CD's and Cases that I do ). It will save you some headaches, I'm sure, with other programs as well.. I know this small piece of advice is too little - too late.. but its just a suggestion - and it works.
I copied the JO folder and the exp pack folder to the new drive and I got an error that I need to reinstall it. I may try a search in regedit and just copy whatever keys that are related to novalogic / JO, export them and see what happens. I have every novalogic game made so I may just reinstall all of the other games anyways.
If I have to I may use my bro-in-laws game to install because my original key is still registered and I should still be able to play online using my key they have registered, if that does not work I'll have to uninstall so my bro-in-law can play since he is a die hard gamer also. As for getting help from Nova I sent in a form from their site but their code for the form is all goofed upand it seems like they have not really been too helpful lately anyways.
I went and copied everything in the registry that was under novalogic.
First uninstalled the other games since I had those disks and then when I did a search, the other games had no entries but JO and esc did, there was even an entry for the key but it was in hex so it did not matter since it was being copied over to the other drive. Then I fired up JO and it worked, just got done playing a TDM in ESC games with some non-team players but I finished and logged off to reply to this post. Now I'm going back to the usual AAS games for the next ....11:25pm now...for the next 5 hrs.
Ahhhh, I'm happy again
