    looks good to me!

if you do a lot of mapping you might want more memory, but 512 is plenty

1 thing though, you said that you already have the video card, so unless your using a really slow pc now i don't see how upgrading is going to do much for the choppy game.

that is most always due to your video card and/or internet connection

    i like amd, i think it's a great upgrade!

but as for the game, i dont see a big improvement over what you already have. i know you just got the video card this year, but you may consider upgrading that as well if gaming is your motive

Are you sure about me not having any improvements???

Looks like everybody here in my environement is unanimus about me getting an improvement.

For some reason we think that my processor cant take alot of action when it comes to ''processing''.

no, i'm not sure. i thought that i was clear on that. and i think you should upgrade also. it just seams to me that your 850 should be plenty for C4

    CPU Type and Motherboard Speed:
Minimum - Pentium II 450 equivalent with 100 MHz bus (2x AGP).

Recommended - Pentium III 700 equivalent with 133 MHz bus (4x AGP)

I was running 500MHz AMD in a COMPAQ and pretty much was able to keep up with all applications and had no trouble to speak of with on-line games. If your thinking a PIII 850MHz isn’t capable of handling the kind of action your speaking of then I would say your computer has some sort of problem and by all means upgrading isn’t going to hurt. There’s nothing wrong with upgrading and the configuration you specified is more then adequate to handle any type game or program you install in it.
I agree with Rustinsk that your choppy game is most likely graphics related so I’m wondering if and when you do get your new upgrade that you might run into the same type of problems considering your using the same graphics card. I know from experiences I’ve had that allot of laggy and choppy gaming is graphic related and sometimes simple setting change’s can fix some of the problems.
I just recently upgraded from the 500MHz to 1.3GHz Thunderbird but have the same graphics card and to tell you the truth I’m having minor problems with the graphics in some of my games. I noticed that when I ran the resolution at 1024x768 in the games it was laggy. I’ve set it back to 800x600 and has help considerable.

I’m sure everyone knows that each computer is different in the kind of “fixes” you use, not all fixes work for all computers. If you’re upgrading for the sake of upgrading then by all means you should do it and what you have posted is more then adequate. But if your upgrading in the hope to fix some choppy or laggy part of your game, then be realistic and get to the bottom of the problem first cause it might just be something minor.

Ok I will try lowering down the resolution to 600 x 800 and see what this does on the lag part.

One other symptom is that I get a funny kinda flashing white flickering on the top of the far away montains as soon as they get in my view.

And the lag is there mostly when there is more than 10 players on the server and I mostly connect on a 110 +/- 20 ms ping.

    Again thanks to all responders

are you sure that your power supply isnt goin out or underpowered g-force cards love the juice. may be a 35 dollor fix instead of a new machine.
could also be a heat problem when was the last time you blew off the cpu fan and case fan or power supply fan etc...
is the bios set for 4x agp
the card set for 4 x jumper?
is the software set for 4 x (my sons g-f 4 mx440 after installing it i had to go to the adapter properties and set it for 4 x default was 1 x why? who knows)
    defraged latley?
an 850 pIII should be good enough to run it.Rams a little light.
your new pc set up sounds good but you didnt mention a sound card .onboard sound cards eat up cpu cycles.
