Whew, I dread the difficult ones...
there really is nothing to this though . . . there for i consider it a easy fix
as for other issues regarding your connect integrity i suggest WWW.DSLREPORTS.COM
even if you dont have DSL ( i dont ) they have tools and such to adjust and tweak your connection to its fullest.

REALITY: one stinger in real life would down a comanche, a perfect example is Comanche GOld and Comanche 3. Comanche 4 is a arcade game get used to it.
UNFAIR????:
i am sorry you feel that way . . . BUT the reality of the matter is before this macros that i introduced most players would HOLD DOWN THERE FIRE BUTTONS!!!!! firing all 28 at some unexpected player with no delay between them . . .
most every player out there has this ability to do this . . . so it is fair . . . causing tons of lag; NOW THAT IS UNFAIR . . . to lag your oponet to death because you just want to hold down a button BUT there is nothing you can do about it . . . NOW on the other hand if you unload using this delay between shots you can creat tons less lag then before . . . Rustinsk if you want me to list all the players that used to and still do just hold down there trigger firing tons of stingers at 0ms delay i will BUT you better give me a biger forum to do it . . .
Ghost,
I'm not sure why, but there were two things bugging the crap out me when I started this online gaming a couple of months ago...
The first thing... my very first game... I was subjected to 2 players at my base alternating reloading and killing me as soon as I came back at startup... Baserunning... As if a Comanche would actually start or would be delivered behind enemy lines (unless it was to Rambo..)
The second thing... the incredibly huge gap between the ace pilots and the newbies... Sure man, this is an arcade... but answer this for yourself... can you change the fire rate on the machine at the arcade ? And what is the average age of those kids putting the tokens in the machines...?
I checked out your holding the fire button down theory. The rate is programmable. I personally prefer a slow rate because my stupidity is bad about kicking in about the middle of a keystroke... requiring heavy use of the Bspace key. Whatever, IMHO we are still talking about programming, the attention span of an 8 to 12 year old, (the future players)... and keeping them in the house and interested enough to purchase C5 if and when it arrives... Money drives the market ghost, and they are a large enough share of it to make a difference for the rest of the crowd... and they won't be back if a group of programming wiz's stand as bullies -greeting them at novaworld's doors.
I have played your server ghost.. you are a prolific map maker... you are one of the better pilots... but I have seen you run off what appeared to be a new pilot with this 'tuned to the max' attitude. Get a 'throwaway' pilot name... slow down and get killed in the 'line of training'... give the kids a chance. If I have a Comanche arrive on my server that doesn't turn and lock on mine nearly instantly using stingers... I hesitate and refuse to take advantage, until they prove they need to be challenged... the ones that take advantage of this 'be kind to the newbie policy' are jerks anyway... so what do you have to lose ?
From what little my pea sized brain can gather after a brief conversation with THE insomniac... the use of macroflares are causing some serious troubles in the lag department too - and is an issue that might also need some attention... but lag and an equal playing field are two different issues... two very different issues.
A salute to the servers offering Unsolicited Help and Refuge to the Newbies...and to the efforts of DSS crowd for their efforts in getting the fun and fairness back into the game... Maybe Novalogic will notice... probably not. But the reason for lack of liberty is usually due to the abuse of it...
Whatever, I don't care...I feel better knowing I tried while I was here..
_ghost_, i have always appreciated your input in your posts & i respect your opinion, though i may not agree with it here.Originally posted by _ghost_

it was not my intention to cause any friction between us, & perhaps i should have held my tongue, or at the least have done it another thread.
i am backing down from this debate, please accept my apology.

no need to apologize i just want ppl to have FUN!!!!! and this would help . . . (that was to Rustinsk) and i am sorry for any harsh words BUT MAN IT IS A GAME there is no right or wrong way to kill all lag BUT this helps.. .
NOW to BLUETIEREIGN . . . i have not turned down training other newbie piolets as i was trained (some) my other piolets . . . i personal will not engage a person (fire on them) till they fire first UNLESS i reconize there sound patterns as taking advanced movements toward me . . .
one thing a DSS person will not do it FARP kill on purpose . . . if you see this then report it to inso. i think it is wrong BUT i love it when ppl try to do it to me beause i can take them on . . .
the rate of fire is programable on the keyboard icon (under repeat speed option under the control pannel) on in windows BUT i just now (litteral) discovered that . . .
and i retract any harmfull pros in stating the macros was only way . . .
BUT most modern joysticks (like mine) can be told to press something X number of times . . . i thank you for bringing to light the KEYBOARD THING and i will now retract my other post and rewrite a new one about that instead . . .
ICQ me if you wish to talk more 10549952
PLEASE DELETE THIS FORUM SECTION (a simple fix to get rid of lag) i wish to rewrite it the RIGHT way without the macros included.
