It was taking my attention that alot is going on about banning and restricting access to NW servers when using a 3rd party program or NoCd patches.
I was unaware of this since I play only public servers.
So I did a test to be able to inform you all what is going on.
Ofcourse I can only tell you about my NoCd patch, not about the use of 3rd party programs.
NL recently changed their policy (eg. restricted use of a name). What follows is a consequence of that policy.
I logged in on my account, choosed a name and joined a NW game. After app. a minute I was kicked out and got the following screen...
What is the consequence?
The username that was active when you joined the NW game got suspended, restricted, banned, whatever...
You will not be able to join a NW game under that name anymore, or better put: under that slot number (you have 4 slots).
If you try, you will get a nagscreen with the code 650. You will get that screen also when you enter you account after starting the game, but you can continue.
So, you may forget that slot because even trying to change the name on that slot or deleting it, will not succeed because it's restricted.
Is my account still valid?
Ofcourse it is, it stays valid. But instead of four slots you have three of them.
Conclusion
USE THE CD AND ORIGINAL EXE (NOT ONLY THE CD) IF YOU PLAY NW GAMES
The use of my NoCd patch, which is incorporated in the CoopMeNow patch, has no influence if you serve or play public games.
Note
Even if you join a public server through your account, you will get the nagscreen mentioned above (code 650) if you use the "restricted" name or names.
So you have two choices:
1. you want to join through your account: choose another nameslot
2. you don't want to use your account: bypass the login and go straight to the game
