C4 missions refuse to load in Windows XP

    Hey wotz up C4 crew

I got a *wierd* problem. I just bought a new PC running Windows XP Home and and installed my copy of Comanche 4 on it - and I gots me a problem

Comanche 4 loads up fine...until you get to the missions section. I select the mission...the mission-load graphic shows...it reaches a 100%...and then the computer freezes. I have to re-start by cutting off the power

I cant figure it out. We ran XP's Program Compatibility thingy and even that failed. Everything loads up fine until u get to the mission where it reaches a 100% and then freezes *sniff*

Anyone on the forum experienced something similar? Cuz I have C4 running on my laptop that has Windows 2000 Professional and it runs just fine on that....but on XP its just *wierdness*

    **Hellllllpppppp**

    Thx

    first things to check:

all updated drivers (mobo, vid, sound, joystick) downloaded and installed ?

    winxp updates/patches installed ?

2nd thing: only prob i ever had with pentium/ati128 pro was screen resolution
switching between desktop and c4. if i used any 2 different resolutions it works fine, but with same resolution cant alt-tab between desk and prog.

(thats all i know, maybe someone else has more help)

1.) You could very well have a "pop-up" blocker that is pucking things up or a firewall. (I.E. alot of firewalls have pop-up blockers in them nowadays.too!!

2.) CD ROM, CD-RW, OR DVD ROM is jacked up in some way. note: DVD ROM's have been know to not install games or play them properly.

other than that I don't know what to tell you, But call Novalogic.

    Hope you get it Fixed.

    Wiper Helped me

Don't know if anything either of us said will help HardcoreUproar.

But I do know that you helped me wiper, I was wondering why the hell I could not ALT/TAB, or CTRL/ESC out of the blasted game.

    Prob solved

Forgot to tell u guys but the solution to this problem was a change of videocard. The card was changed from and ATI Rage to an Nvidia Riva.

Comanche 4 now runs like a dream!

Guess there was something wrong with ATI's card..
