We are pleased to announce that two very important events for the community will be taking place next week.

Firstly, the new update for DF - BHD is in final QA and will go live on Monday October 13th, 2003 at 10a.m. PST. The update will be approximately 20 Megs in size and adds or addresses issues with a number of features including:

Added up to 50 player hosting capability for consumers.
The “Auto Range” feature in sniper rifles and grenade launchers is now a server setting.
Added mod support for users. Players will be able to run mods thru NovaWorld.
Removed the glowing white outline of all claymores.
Reduced the number of active claymores per person from 8 to 2. This has been done to remove the 'Field of Claymores' issue.
Helicopter rotor blades will now kill your character in multiplayer should you get too close.
We have removed the cartwheel animation from the emote list due to glitch exploitation. This has been replaced with a new emote.
The number of active smoke grenades has been reduced to 3, to clear up slowing the framerate on certain machines.
We have fixed the crashing ibrowse issue some users have experienced.
Fixed rapid firing issues for certain sniper rifles and shotguns.
Fixed the quick reload of machine guns glitch.

We have also added a performance indicator to NovaWorld that will now give consumers a clearer indication of the connection quality of games over NovaWorld. This indicator has four lights (Green, Yellow, Red and Gray) and works like this:

Green light means the server is running in good condition.
Yellow light means a moderate server with average to poor ping times etc.
Red light means very poor game experience due to speeds, pings etc.
Gray light means no information is available for that server.

Finally, we are very pleased to announce that Wednesday October 15th, 2003 will see the release of the full editing tools for Delta Force - Black Hawk Down. These tools come with full documentation and include a full mission editor, object builder and terrain creator. More details on the tools will be released early next week
