    ¡°sysdump.txt saved¡±RESOLUTION

    PROBLEM:
When I start a single player mission, the game freezes, I get a ¡°sysdump.txt saved¡± message, or the game starts, but the terrain is all white and there are squares on the screen.

    RESOLUTION:
If you are experiencing system crashes, you¡¯ll want to try the following: Make sure you have the latest update for your video card. Every couple of months, or more often in some cases, video card manufactures will release updates that correct problems with video cards and make sure that the play the latest games. These updates are typically free of charge and can be downloaded from the web page of the company that made your video card. If you don¡¯t know what kind of video card you have in your computer you can find out by following these steps. Click on the ¡°Start¡± button and go from ¡°Start¡± to ¡°Run¡±. In the text prompt that opens up, erase anything that is already displayed and type in DXDIAG then press ¡°OK¡±. This will open the Direct X Diagnostic Tool, a Windows program that helps your video and sound card work with Windows. Once you are in this tool you can click on the ¡°Display¡± tab at the top of the page and the tool will provide information on your video card. In the upper left-hand corner there will be a box labeled ¡°Device¡±. In this box, next to the lines labeled ¡°Name¡± and ¡°Manufacturer¡± you will find the important information about your video card. Make sure that no anti-virus software is running in Windows when you play the game (especially Norton Anti-Virus). These programs conflict with the normal processes of the game and may be the source of your system crashes. Also, close any other programs running in the system tray before starting the game. These programs use system resources that are needed for the game to function properly. If you are using Windows 98 or ME you can do this by holding the Ctrl and Alt keys on your keyboard and then tapping the delete key. This will open up a window labeled ¡°close program¡±. From this window you¡¯ll want to highlight the programs listed, one at a time, and then hit the ¡°End Task¡± button. This will turn off the program until the next time you reboot the computer. The only two programs from this list that you¡¯ll want to leave alone are ¡°Explorer¡± and ¡°Systray¡±, since these two programs are needed to run Windows closing them will cause your computer to reboot. If you are using Windows 2000 or XP the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keystroke open a window with a few options on it. You¡¯ll want to select the option called ¡°Task List¡±. Once the Task List opens, you¡¯ll need to click on the tab at the top labeled ¡°Applications¡± and then highlight the programs listed under applications one by one and click on the ¡°End Task¡± button to close them. Lastly, be sure that your game has been updated to the most recent version available, either by using the game¡¯s built in update utility or by downloading the latest update from http://www.novalogic.com/updates.asp It is very important that you have the most up to date versions of our software, as many issues are addressed in these updates.
