Beats mine by a mile. I just bought a GeForce 6800GS 256MB graphics card...I can run settings in BF2 on high with little or no frame loss on-line.

Hard to believe just a graphics card could make so much of a difference. I've gone through all my old games to see what they look like...C4 looks killer, BHD...gonna reinstall Joint Ops this week for he heck of it. I upgraded my powers supply to 400w to help with the extra power connection on the graphics card.

I should have gone 64bit when I first upgraded this but I'm pretty satisfied with what I got right now...well until Bluetiereign gets around to sending me his computer anyway!

Sorry Charger, all my 64bit systems have been taken already. The wife has laid claim on the 'old' AMD3700+ system. My parents are getting the 'ancient' AMD3200+ that started this idiocy.

The sad part - the FX-60 will be 'obsolete' in May when the M2 arrives, bringing with it the FX-62.

I'm still hoping this setup will last a couple of years.

LOL Most systems now days are out of date before you get them home. But I know how you feel. Mines a about 2 years old. Still plays all the games that are out. But I'm sure I'll have some problems on the next wave of new releases. Hell My first car lasted longer than my PCs do. And it didn't cost as much either.

    What a difference

The original vs. current machine on 3dMark5. Never really tried out the 3700+. I could tell while the test was running that it was blowing the other one away.

I was thinking of getting one of those fancy new laptops. What do you think of this model.

Re: What are your rig specs?

    New System:

    • AMD 9950BE Quad-Core 125W -- OC'd to 2.85ghz

    • ASROCK A780GXE/128M Mainboard

    • 4 Gigs OCZ 8500 -- Running in Dual Channel @ 1066

    • EVGA 260GTX Video Card --216 Core

    • SilverStone 750Watt PS

    • Sceptre 24" LCD -- 1920 x 1200

    • Antec Nine Hundred Gaming Case

A couple of footnotes -- 4 more gigs of RAM on the way - I just wanted to make sure this RAM played nice with this motherboard. 2 more WD Sata HD's on the way... just wanted to see if all of this was going to work first - as I get older, I get more sceptical. Anyway...

I load up 3DMark05 and get some frustrating results. I cannot figure out why the score is so low - compared to the FX60 with a 7800GT. I can load up Crysis and FarCry2 with Very High and Ultra High Setting with 2X(AA) without a problem - it is unreal. Even with the Dual 8600GT's running in SLI - I couldn't have any settings on High - without taking such a huge framerate hit, the games were miserable to even play.

I can't figure it out. Anyway, here are the results.
