Hummm.
The only reason I'm gonna do this is the settings are server side and apply to all players.
Game files were alterd and some players will have an issue with it.
But first I'm gonna explain why I did this to start with. Exactly what was changed and why.
I have always hated version 2. The reason is the error crashes and the scoring makes players run faster macros, lagging the server and changing the game I liked better before players learned how to force no counts and started running hot guns and fast macros on there stingers.
I was looking for a way to fix the no counts and change the game play so it was more like the way the game was after the first and last patch Nova put out. Even as a player that forced no counts I still wanted a better scoring game. But version 2 wasn't it.
The no count is an issue with hit detection and what the game says scores a kill in version 1.5. To alter that I changed the stinger speed and adjusted the hit area around the helo, so there was less area for splash damage to happen and the stinger has a better chance to make the score hit the first time the other player fires. I also made some changes to the flares.
No counts are reduced to very few for version 1.5 if the players will turn the macros off. Even if they run fast macros no counts are still reduced to a level = to or less than the error crashes in version 2, well for me any way. But they still will happen now and then.
So here is what I am going to do. I will put the files up for down load any one can use them. The files work for both game versions.
Rather players are willing to turn there macros off and stop spamming flares needs to be seen. For this to work right they need to do so. I really don't care any more I play with the crew and a few other players now and then so it wont matter to me.
But if it can make the game fun again for some of the players that have stayed with the game all this time I hope it helps.
Go to my down loads for C4, make sure you read the readme file insidethe zip and grab both files, the original game file and the 1 hit server.

Just a few more things. I did this for my self and the guys I play with. Any one that was willing to do some research and spend a little time could have done the same thing.
It took no programming skill. As I don't know a thing about programming.
But it is as is, It does what I wanted it to, and that is good enough for me. So if you have issues with it, reinstal the game back to way it was.
From what I could tell it makes no diff if players are 8h when they join the server, they still die with 1 direct hit. I havent needed to run ae with it so it hasnt been fully tested.
I agree with RAB should have made him PAY...
The biggest complaint that I've seen so far with the 1 hit server is that with the stinger speed increased you see the stinger in mid flight and you get hit. If you put the 1 hit file on the client side it will fix that. Since the modification for 1 hit are server side controlled it will have no effect in a 3 hit server. So all 3 hit servers will remain 3 hit no matter what .def file is being used. And you can always change back to the original .def file if you wanted to serve a 3 hit game. Myself I prefer the 1 hit. It's more realistic in my opinion. So far the only people that really don't like it are the campers. And personally I'm glad. :spin: I've also noticed players that don't always do well in a 3 hit server score better in a 1 hit server. So over all I think it levels the playing field a little also.
A payment would have been great. But I would have settled for begging. Well as long as there were plenty of witnesses. :PQuote:

Also if you are going to run it on a version 1.5 server let me know and I will send you a text macro to inform the players they are in a one hit server, since version one doesn't have any options to send a text message to the players. Other wise if the server is unattended players are going to think the player that kills them is cheating.
