Re: Updated release 10/06/06 for Beta Host Patch.....
:stupid2: , so... I'm about lost at this point..lol.
But, thank you very much for dropping in guys.
One quick question...
Redhawk, have you guys purchased a remote server somewhere ? Or are you running this from home ? I got the impression everyone was pitching in to 'purchase' a server.
Re: Updated release 10/06/06 for Beta Host Patch.....
Well I have two problems with testing that theory Inso. One is I usually run a BHD server for CTE. Although it's usually empty until later in the evening so that I can deal with. The main problem is that I don't have a copy of the Host Manager and it's not available for download anywhere at this time. Maybe Redhawk can help me out with that part. If so I'll see what I can find out on it.
I pretty much quit C4 a while back because of the way things in the community was going. Maybe if the major problems get fixed I'll look into playing it again.

CFS has a dedicated server in Dallas. I think Redhawk was talking about using his extra home PC to test the patch sepperatly from the main CFS server.

Question to you, Does this mean you now having it running without a problem? Word from you last night was you couldn’t get it working is this still the case?
Hosting with the patch.
The patch does not care if you are a dedicated server or serving and playing. It will check you for everything the same as if you were a player. have no idea what the manager is/was doing as a result of host and server as I have not used it. Your router configuration does not need to be altered or changed from normal game hosting when using it. It does require net access through a firewall to make an http(web page) port 80 request just as your browser and that is it.
The map managing.
I have an app which will allow changing every conceivable option in the game in the game on the fly needing nothing more then a map cycle to make it effective. Started on it years, but didn’t finish it before I left. Once we have the bugs and cheating issues resolved I will finish it and release it to all. I am not planning on adding any of that functionality into this patch as I want it to do one thing and do it perfectly as fast as possible, stop the cheats!!! But rest assured will get all your goodies back plus some you didn’t have before Im done.
RedBaron---
Truthfully I haven’t spent enough time on the td to have a good enough idea yet what I can do with it. Lmao I found out about it last week!!! And have been nose deep in the other issues thus far. But once I know Ill let everyone know.
One last note of spilling some beans as it relates to the td being fixable. I can tell you that while I may not be able to get this or a few other issues that may arise resolved with a server side only patch. I have another solution in the background over here that will in fact allow us to solve **** near any issue that comes up, best way I can describe it, it’s a home brew punkbusters. I have not done any further development with it yet but it is started and will work without a doubt. Pretty **** cool too if I do say so myself!
Please keep me posted on the workings of the patch so I can get it functioning correctly….
Inso out
Must have been a misunderstanding. I got it working immediately. What I said was there is no way the other pilots could tell it was working. Only the server could tell because he's the only one to see if the icon is in the taskbar. I am not always in the server of course and with the other manager they would call me if it quit running and I could go in and get it going again because it popped up the punt crc and netdelay so they knew it was running or not. With this version if I'm not here, They don't know if it's working or not and I get all kinds of complaints if they think it isn't working. I have noticed that the ping for me is lower and Rotor 6 also said his were lower so this could prove my theory that the one we were using was causing a curtain amount of lag in itself. But no I have had no issues myself at all with the Host Patch. As far as the puntcrc and netdelay if you address this in a later update I think that it would be better if the puntcrc and netdelay happened at about 3 minutes since many go out after the start of a map and come back in in a couple of minutes. This would hopefully give enough time for things to get stable from the map cycle and then the folks going and coming back in which takes nearly 100% of your cpu resources for a brief moment.

Actually it is leased. we have had several checking on getting one but nothing has came through. Our server is in Dallas but there are several of us thet have servers at home also but we don't use them very ofter anymore since all we have is cable connections.
