Can't keep the terrorists from launching a nuke -- is it possible?!?!

Can NOT complete the mission (sorry, can't remember the name) where you have to keep the terrorists from launching a nuke. It's the one where you're you have to enter Russian airspace unauthorized, the one with all the snowmobiles. There's just too many defenders. I must have tried it 30 times, have tried everything I can think of: approach the hot zone from different angles, take out all Russian air asssets first, sneak in low and slow or zoom in high and fast with everything blazing, fly around taking out every target on the map before approaching the nuke silos (with 4 or 5 trips back to the FARP) -- nothing works! Every time, before I can take out all the nuke sites or even the headquarters building, Dark Star tells me they've launched one and the mission is over. There seems to be just too much firepower defending the silos and not enough time to do it. Anybody got any tips? I hate to sound like a simp but I've really tried hard to beat this one, and no joy! Any input appreciated, thanks.

(p.s. and if I can get past this one there's still the one where you have to stop the convoy carrying the friendly agent though the woods - that's **** near impossible also. Sheesh some of these are hard!)

I beat every board on the game, you just have to keep tryin. It's been a while since I played that map but I believe I took out the Headquarters building first so they cant send a message. also I used hellfires on the silos which detroys them in one shot. Try to get as close as possible to the headquarters and take out as many tanks and artillery as possible along the way, use the trees around the tracks as cover. The more you play it, the better you'll get at finding the right spots to be in at the right time. Keep at it!:agree.gif:

Thanks man, I'll keep at it. Last night I tried a fast shot "up the gut", i.e. fly as fast and low as possible straight up the railroad track into the terrorists' lair. So much incoming!!! Like running a gantlet of stingers and MGs. Firing stingers on the fly, I made it to the headquarters buildings, but before I could even target a silo or building, boom!! Toast. Fire of every kind from all directions. I dunno, to me this mission (and one or two others) just seems impossible.

I'm tryin to remember as much as I can but I think I used my cannons and hydras as you go along thre tracks, take out the snowmobiles with your cannons cause I think they can also signal your presence, use hydras on the tanks that should get you pretty close without any alerts. Once you get near the HQ, yup, all hell breaks loose so I can't really tell you much more after that but I remember spending alot of attempts just tryin to find all the silos! But like I said, the more you play, the better you'll get. I spent many hours on this map and probably twice as much on the drones map. But if I can do it, anyone can! good luck!:icon_super.gif:
