That song is called How can you mend a broken heard sung by Ruben Studdard in his 2003 Album, Soulful. Originally the song was sung by the Bee Gees on their Album, Trafalgar.

Well my friend, I found another recent artist with that song, Michael Buble. it released the same year as Ruben, so unless you are talking actual month day and year date, i was right... am I still wrong?

Sorry Chad, but Buble is not correct. Ruben Studdard released the CD with That song in December 2003, and Buble did it in Februrary 2003
