ok, I started making some tkothx4 maps. Since the client can't select violet or yellow, the way we used to do x4 was assign each color a password. However, I with the tkoth games, the teamcolor passwords don't work at all, so , am I missing something or is it simply impossible to password the game ? (Or does someone have to make a client utility for eveyone to download ?)

hmmm. Ok, i wasn't able to activate the x4 in the tkoth games. anybody got a solution to that ?

It is working for me after I followed what Bane said. I can pw and join a 4x or 2x tkoth on any color. I'll just go over it again to make sure you did the same Wiper.
open the c4 config file. scroll down to system at the bottom. place the pass words in the color pass word slots then save the file.
On the pc to join the server. Open the config file scroll down to muti player place the pass word in the squad pass word slot. Then save the file.
The other settings I have set are let players choose team color and no pass word in the join server slot. One note on the pass word to join the server setting. I did have that setting log me in a few times, under the wrong color. So i leave it with no pass word now. And with out setting a pass word there the lobby will show the server as a no pass word server even tho the pass words were set in the config by color. I also have the slot in muti player con fig [ team_req = ]set with the correct number. red =1, blue =2, yellow =3, violet = 4

As a side note the server pack for team koth is going to be released tonight or tomorrow with 12 maps all in 4x format.
ok, i got that part. but when i put up 4x tkoth maps all i got was 2 teams, red and blue. were you showing 4 teams ?

Forget for a 4 team game under multi player in the config file put 4 in the mp_numteams slot
I did that too. I can't get the 4 teams to show up in the tkoth maps, only in the regular tdm maps.
You cant get start markers for yellow and violet. ? or is the game attribut wrong ?

Sorry i misunderstood. If the config file has 4 in the mp_numteams slot under mutli player the server should have 4 teams on the game screen. Check and see if the con fig line is stuck. If that doesn't work I'll have ICQ on tonight if you like I'll go over it with you and see if e can find what's wrong. Mabe theres a conflick with another setting.
the settings are right. have you served up 4x tkoth maps ? and they worked ? if so , i'll keep fiddling with it, i only posted cause i couldnt get it to work
yes I have in the 4x format and had a player on each color
I all so just noticed that if you are looking at the dedicated server screen it will only show red and blue. But if you log in the server or save the scores it shows all 4 teams.

Anyway, I'm glad you guys got it sorted out.
I've noticed that If you host a four team game only two teams appear on the screen while the initial farp menu is open.
Only after you close the farp menu will the 3rd and 4th teams
appear on the screen.
Maybe theres a way to get a dedicated server to display all four teams.
I'll start looking.

lol thanks reaper, I guess I shouldn't have expected the game to act right. I thought it had to disply the 4 on the server menu or it wassn't working doh !! thanks for the help
