to flare or not to flare . . .
this message i post asks the question: should i press that flare button or not. :freak3:
now less examine this some . . .
what are the benifits of press the flare button and when do we actualy need to do so . . .
i can only think of TWO time it should be used. After dodging and killing an oponet that just used stingers on you a stray stinger is still locked on you and if you dont get rid of it it will do SOME damage and that may just be enough to kill you ( it has happen to me a lot)
in that case you would wait till the stinger get close and release at lest 2 flares (i like 4) do this while flying away in a strait line from the stinger.
NOW NUMBER TWO.
the only other time i can think of is when someone is trying to snipe you (that is attack you from a distance with out a lock) and the stingers are late locking you. the key here is to release the flares before the stingers lock on you so when they do they will automaticly lock on the already fired flares.
NOW OTHER THAN THAT THERE IS NO NEED TO USE THEM.:thumb:
now why is it bad to use flares all the time while dodging stingers . . .
the key reason i can think of is that it will cause more lag in the game. . .
i personal do not use flares while dodging and i find that the on board computer does a great job for me . . . and because of this i dont add more lag to the game . . .
try it some time . . . if you are dodging right you should have no need for that flare button that you mostlikely tweeked to fire 2 billion in a single press . . .

i have found if you fire a flare more than 80-100ms (not sure which works better) then the stingers WILL HIT YOU . . . i had my button set up for 6 flares with one press at 0ms delay. it needless to say didnt work that well . . .
the onboard computer will actualy release the flares at about 200ms delay. :yes:
just something to think about next time you are playing a game and complaining of lag when you are holding down that flare button each time you dodge in which if you didnt read "a simple way to get rid of some lag" (previous post) you are most likely also firing all 28 stingers at 0ms . . .
lesson of day : only use flares when your onboard cpu does not despence in time or at all . . .
