Possible C4 Bickering soultion???

Let's at least give this some thought. Shall we???

I know, or should I say that I have been informed that some thigs that I have said have offended some people. If so then I am very sorry, and I do appoligze to everyone that has been offended. Although I have not used any profanity or anything, and thought my comments to be in good nature. But however, I do kinda point blank say things alot of the time(Just the way I perceive them to be). And have been told to tone it down, cause some can't or won't take information that way. Or, they take it the wrong way. So once again, "I am truly sorry if I have offended anyone in the so said text, as mentioned above"


Now that that is out of the way, I have an Idea that might work for everyone.

It seems to me that most players just want to win however the case may be (I.E. no No_Counts, no marcos, no Chicken Farping, Or whatever the case may be for each individual that has this same feeling.) And it has become quite appearent that they want this to take place in the all new Version 2.0/with AE.
Now haveing said all this.
What about instead of haveing a "Squad Match" have a full blowen "Tournament" with all the squads being involved. And have it in the All New Version 2.0/ with AE.

I mean from what everyone has said in the "Forceing No-Counts is a Cheat!!!" forum. Everyone can play in Version 2.0/with AE and do pretty good playing it. And the best part is, that most said they don't mind playing in it either, and would do so anytime someone set it up.

Myself, as I guess that most of you know or at least some of you know. I dont like it very much, and yes I do force No_Counts. However I have played it and I can do alright in it as well. I played it today and got a score ratio of 9-3. In my opinion that ain't super bad shabby, if I do say so myself. I have seen other people score alot better than that though. And in time I belive that I could too. But the fact remains, that I simply don't like it. And the reason for that is, I find it more challangeing to me at this point, to try and kill someone that can force No-Counts very well. And I have a lot of fun doing it. Who knows if I keep playing the game, I might have just as much fun later on in Version 2.0 with AE.

But, enough of my mindless chatter. With that all out in the open about me, I would still be willing to play a "Tournament" in Version 2.0/ with AE. And I promise to not say anything bad about it what so ever while doing so. And if we could get everyone else to do the same thing I think it would work very well. Somehow I get the feeling that is what alot of players would like to have anyway.

Only one more stipulation would need to be put in place. Oh Man let me see if I can find a good way to put this...All of the "Known Forceing People/Squads" if they do win can not throw it in someone's/Squads face, which I don't think that would ever be a problem anyway, with a few exceptions lol (As matter of fact no one needs to throw anything in anyone's face). And all the "Otherwise Non-Forceing Squads (I.E. the Squads that use the "Camping and Pop-Up Strategy or whatever you feel good calling it). (Keep in mind I belive both types of squads use very good Strategies, In other words both strategies seem to work pretty good for anyone that wants to use either strategy) "Can have the Boasting Privileges if they so choose to use have them"

And I hope that this Topic does not offend/ rub anyone the wrong way either.
It is only a suggestion nothing more!!! For real!!!

I just can't help but think that this is what everyone wants/needs anyway. I really do think that alot of people will want to jump right on this. Because it seems that is what most of the bickering is about to begin with, this way everyone could prove once and for all who is the better man with the better strategy, or should I say the one that works the best for them.
Then mabe everyone can just be happy again, and we can go back to having fun playing the game.

Also whoever ends up being triumphant in this, should it ever take place. will be required to teach me the stratagy the used to win. (Just kidding only if you want to. lol)

Very well thought out ideas and post there bud, nice to see for a change.

Not dircted at you Copenhagen, is to everyone, myself included!

I will (sadly) tell you that v2 is not without bugs or issues to deal with in the future. I also do not I think that everyone "must" move to v2 and drop the experience and lessons learned in v15 forcing or not, bottom line we need to fly as friends having fun no matter what version or style. The only thing that will see this survive is a common ground of respect for each other as people not targets, period! Bugs and issues will always be here and in every other game, its how we deal with them and approach each other on them that makes the difference.

You may not like the way of others and they may not like yours but is there no common ground of fun that says we cant meet each other half way in a civil manner and all have fun?

Whether it's checkers, Chess, Paintball, Darts, Pool, or C4, when a player scores a point, it counts. In C4 now for the first time in a long time this will be true, which makes it a fair game.
I played for the first time in over a month on v2 and v2 with ae this weekend. I got my but kicked at first and it was coming back to me towards the end. It was actually fun!!!! When that fireball showed up at the end of the stingers a point went up, all I asked. When I blew up which was more often LOL A point went up on the other side. It's the small things in life like that I used to take for granted.

It just suprises me that noone want to do this or even comment on it. I mean after all the huff about how much better so many people think the ver 2 is. And that other piliots aren't as good as they are just because they fly in ver1.5 and cause the "dreaded No_Count". I just thought tons of people would be all over this, so they could prove that they were the better piliots, than the "No_Count Forcers"(which is really just a "glitch in the game"anyway, And I did think that was what al the fuss was about anyway)
I can't count the number of piliots that have said to me "you are only winning cause you are forceing No_Counts" are something to that effect.

Oh well, I guess they were just wanting to complain about something, and have someone listen to them, and have sympathy for them.

Are mabe they just realized that ver2 is, in it's own ways just as messed up if not more than ver 1.5.

Just thought that I would throw an idea out there anyway.
Sure does stink though, I have been getting pretty good at the "New Dumb Lock Fire Versoin2/AE". It certainly is not as hard as ver 1.5. Matter of fact it is almost to easy. I don't know if I will even play the game anymore, because of it.

I will probably haft to go and find a game with a little more action it pretty soon.

Anyhoots!!! you guys have fun anyway, I can now see that this wasn't that big of deal after all. So there really is no need for a match or tournament. There is only a need for diplomacy. Which I am not good at, i suppose.

My hat is off to you Cope you had a good idea, and it is sad that no one else thought so. But truly I think your last post really covers the whole thing in a nut shell. Don't give the game up there are still some of us that will fly with you in any version.

Sorry I did not read this post befor, but thought it was another post about bikkering, There are 2 websites for tournaments.
www.c4league.tk the tourament starts in Jan. This has been in the works for weeks, all squads have to registor to play in the tournament, as far as I understand AE for V20 will be used. Your sqoad is reg. to play in it check with your squad leader.
www.supergamesquad.com has squad and open tourneys. He will also post squad match results for ranking if your squad will send him the screen shots. This has been tried befor by Rantanplan, but if the squads do not support it ( send screen shots of matchs ) then it will not work either. So tell your squad leaders and we will find out who or what sqaud comes out on top.

Sorry cope, I wasn't igoring this either. I just thought that the other thread had pretty much run the gamut.
On the issue of who is the best pilot, the thing that comes to mind is the interesting, and somewhat ironic notion, that (in my opinion) the pilots who so desperately want to claim that they are top-gun tend to be the very same pilots who are the most abusive, ill-mannered, and often the very same who degrade the game by using every possible means to defeat other players (bordering or possibly including cheats).

This is not to say that tournaments are bad, I think that they are great.

However, I am happy that there is finally a league starting, and hope that this will help our brother hood to survive. Team play is a lot of fun, and especially lately, has held a lot of us together. I would encourage the sponsers of this new league to allow other members to play as groups (without squad affiliation, but maybe just as a group or "club") so that everyone in our community can play in this league. We (lrs) has found that the league format works extremely well in another game we play, and the league enforces the rules by virtue of referes and also review of server logs/protests. Unfortunately, I don't think the C4 supports this well, but the format is proven effective, and I/we look forward to it being a great benefit.

I had an idea that I beleive is very dooable.

I would like to see the current Built-in Novaworld Login pages "Startup.htm" & the exe embeded resource "lstartup.htm" modified to contain links to a common location or lounge, with the purpose of organizing and building C4 Squadrons and tournaments, user chat and a bullitin area would be the minuim requirements.

A site like checkpointdelta would be ideal provided it was accesseble and visable from within the multiplayer area.

Current standards could be readily established by diseminating the necessary info to the users whom currently are forced to find out the hard way that glitches exist and the definition of fair play is defined by the consience of C4 community.

I've captured and modified to test it out and it took me less then a hour from conception to functional beta.

Bane you should start a new thread on your idea. It's a good 1. A lot of people will miss it under this thread.

I can make some modifications to ibrowse.dll and startup.htm
and make this available, someone must set up an area though,
keep the HTML coding simple as the NW browser's capabilities
are limited so far to basic
elements(text fields, buttons, PCX-GIF images and few other things) I maybe can add some things to its support....

Let me know if anyones interested, otherwise i will discard
the idea....
