game plays fine until i apply update from novalogic. after the patch is applied my computer wont recognize the cd, so i cant even get game to play???i couldnt give my wingman orders, thats why i tried the patch.im running windows xp,2.4ghz,p4,256ram,,nividia gefoce4 mx 420

You refer to the 'update' - and then call it the 'patch'. I've gotten a little bit confused about what you are doing from this description. Your system is more than enough to run the game.

If you first installed the game update - and then installed the 'no cd' patch - the game should play correctly - though it may try to refuse to start the first time or two you try to play - hitting cancel a couple of times will usually start the game right up.

If you recently bought C4, when you reinstall the game (sorry, don't know any way around this to straighten the problem out) - check the version number of the game... the update may already be included. This is a shot in the dark - but a possibilty ? Otherwise, try downloading the update from here (http://www.checkpointdelta.net/cgi-bin/db.cgi?db=file&uid=default&Game=C4&view_records=1&sb=1&so=ascend&ID=*&mh=100) instead of using Nova's update manager.

As for wingman orders - when you press 7 are you not getting the menu ?

sorry for the confusion.i did just buy the game.i have only used the update which is what caused the no cd prob.is there a no cd patch??

got the update,same thing. wont let me play!! i put cd in and opening screen comes up, when i hit start game the insert cd comes up??

When u installed the no CD exe did u rename or remove the original exe ?. If you didn't that may be ur problem.:1drink.gif:
