View Full Version : BHD: Choppers problems...

Hello ppl, i know that might sound like a newbie question... (maybe bcz i am in this) here goes:
I made a map (SP, Coop) when u start a mission there is a blackhawk on the ground w8ing for u to come up (area trigger) then it takes u to a way point, lands there, u come off, and then he is SOPPUSE to go back to the same place he took off from, land there and w8, just like in the begining. what really happens is: he lands, drops u off, taking off, going to the waypoint/area trigger where he came from, and then, sometimes he's landing and then when you go on it, he is taking off and starts running in circles around the area trigger /waypoint, or he wont even land there, and start cycling around in the air.
is this **** blackhawk creating himself way points or smt ???:flames:
cuz he aint doing what i'm telling him to do.
Any1 with any ideas ?

Thanks ppl the helo's are controled by both the event's and .WAC file that must be created or extracted from the .pff file's . 'ill looky see is there is a wac file for this is not i'll try to creat it for ya . just give me a day or so k :dance:

A few things you could look into while Ed checks that out Tomer...
NO.1 - What are the patrol speed and combat speed of your chopper ? If they are too fast - the heli will not be able to 'hit' the waypoint...and they need to be equal.
NO2. - What is the Distance of your waypoints. The larger the distance - the easier for the helis to hit them. This is found in the upper right hand corner of the waypoint's properties dialogue box - right beside name.
NO3. - Are you resetting waypoints (visited flags) during this time ? If you are, the chopper is simply going back and starting over when this happens.
You are doing well to get the chopper moving after dropoff without the WAC file. Personally, I've had very little luck getting multiple vehicles in a map to move without the ssntowp or gtowp command provided in the WACs.

Well, here goes:
1. My patrol/combat speed are both set to 45 since i noticed that only at this speed the helo wont miss the way point.
2. i only reset the Land/Take off events and both after 20 secs.
3. I have no idea what the heck is a WAC file :( since i just started with those things.
I created my map with a truck without the helo, and its going back and forward again and again, without any problem, only these dang helos r pain in the butt...

P.S: btw, any1 knows how to use the Rope in the BlackHawk For Fast Ropping ?? or is it just these as the decoration ?

Is the truck using the same waypoints your heli was supposed to use ? If so, what are the 'Z' values of your waypoints ?

10x, i'll chk that out.
and yeah, the truck is using the exact way points, for the helo i set the waypoint z to 18, so it wont be to high..
the funny thing is, the i tired doing it again from the begining, thinking i might have done something wrong, it works fine for the first time, it takes off, lands, comes back to here he took off from and lands there. problem is, that once he is taking off again (if he is taking off agian) that he starts running in circles... not landing, not following way points.. nothing..

another thing, i just tried the Sound Rooms map, its good, but when i tired using the fast rope in another map, the animation was gone... how can i do use the fast ropping ?

Is there anyway you could mail the .mis file to bluetiereign@checkpointdelta.net ? I've give it a look and see if I can help you out.
