View Full Version : Black Hawk Down AI Re-Spawns

I'm trying to get my AI to respawn. I select an AI, put a # in the "Spawns(WP pause) box, and then unselect item, but when I return to item the # is back to zero. I tried opening the mis file in notepad but I'm unsure what to do because it doesn't say "spawn" anywhere. If anyone knows how to make this work please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

Just out of curiousity... since you are giving the AI infinite life - with the ability to respawn - why not just make it invulnerable ?

your way ahead of me GE. i've just completed the 1st single player mission & have yet to even play online, let alone delve into mappin'.
i'll check it out, that option is new to me. ;)

I was just curious... when GE said 'my AI' , I automatically thought teammates... perhaps he meant enemy AI ? Cool... There goes the limit problem... 'infinite' enemies..

For me to get the AI to respawn, I had to add a line to the attributes of the AI in the .mis file with notepad. My editor won't create or edit it - however it will export it into the BMS mission file.
Under the AI's attributes:
Add the line movetimer # - with # being the total number of lives you want the AI to have. I've tried up to 8 and it worked fine, producing the orginal spawn and 7 respawns. Can't help with increasing the speed of the respawn, seems to take about 10 secs. :bouncing:

Thanks Etapus Rex. I gave it a try and yes that does work. Your right about the delay too. It does take some time for the respawn to occur. In one of the cd missions I acutually got close enough to watch respawns happen with a group of AI's. It seemed to happen almost as fast as I could shoot them to the ground. But I dont think the delay will be a problem if its hidden from the player, maybe with a teleport target at a new location.

First I would like to say thanks full to goldeneagle about his question and all the exactly help from the Etapus Rex. All working very well with AI respawn when apply the instruction from Etapus Rex said about how to make them work. Thanks again to both gelements and the wonderful checkpointdelta forum.
