I never got into DF - now I regret it.
Fortunately this BHD is based on the Comanche 4 engine. I'm hooked!
It looks like my C4 guide and server macros will be applicable to BHD so I'll work on a section using those but for BHD too - www.c4guide.com (not using this as an excuse to plug my simplistic notepad.exe created html site). :)
In MP, immersion is an understatement - and the netcode feels very smooth and the performance is amazingly good (many older game engines that try to do the samething don't feel nearly as fast, performance wise), and the layout of the keys and gameplay is easy to use and understand - most games require some kind of mod to make them feel this user friendly.
Anyhow, the sounds, visuals, etc, seem even better than C4 so hopefully NL will make a C5 with the enhancements.
I'm definetly pre-ordering this game. Coming from a background of mainly playing Quake 1 - 3, Tribes 1 - 2, and some arcade style flight sims (like Crimson Skies and Aces Over The Pacific - and Comanche 4) I'm very impressed in how well the game plays.
I look forward to the user made missions/maps that will be produced here.
I'm so impressed I really regret not playing earlier DF series games. I didn't realize they were this good.
