OK Inso, you asked for it....... :D

BTW this is very exciting, it could be a whole new game !!!

Being a novice mapmaker, Ive always wanted to include different
settings in my maps, but was always limited by what Nova would
allow us to do. So my 1st question to you is.....

Is there any way to unlock (or enable) the environment file
in the C4med ?
Is it possible that this will be included in the "NEW" exp pack ?
This sure would make maps more interesting, ie: to fly through
real weather conditions, like rain or snow, or a hurricane wind.... lol.
Or make a TRUE night map, not just with black fog.

I know Im asking for alot here, but I think that would
be a huge improvement in C4

Thanks ...

HEy Inso the new terrains look awesome, me and the Boys in the DIE squad can't wait to try out you new terrains. If there's anything that I (or my squad members) can do to help you out just drop me or them a line. Excellent job as usual though Inso and I'm thinking that I wish the empolyees at Nova were 1/2 as dedicated as you were on making a great game even better. :ar15:

Hey Stray,
For starters you dont need to "unlock" anything in the med for environments. what you do need however is an environment file. If you have unpacked any of your pff's the environment files are packed into the c4tdata.pff file with an .ENV extension. Using notepad you can create an env file just make sure you save it as .env and not .txt. Now without packing the files into the pff you can still use them by creating a new shortcut to the med editor and the c4.exe and then add a /d at the end of the command line. Please remeber that the env files are like the terrians, everyone must have it for it to work. I do belive that we are going to try to release some sunsets at the very least with the exp pack. Please try some on your own and let us know how it goes. Maybe you could create a few env for the exp pack?

This is a copy of the Original env file for Sunset1 you can use it as a base to get an idea. And I also reccommend you unpack the remaing env files and have a look at them as well.

It does not seem to take the env file using the /d as it does with c4, it is possiable that the new env file will need to be listed in the items.bin. I will see if I can get this working and post it in the DF mapping section.
