i sponser this site supporting novalogic games.

i picked up my copy of C4 8 months ago & saw that novalogic, in haste to release the game left out ctf & koth. and then after 1 update they abandoned the game :(

i would like to tell you that i still play the game, but i don't.

despite my anger at the producers for abandoning the game, i understant their reasons. and that is that there is no money in it for them. it was their first attempt with this new game engine, & it sucked. clearly there is more money in the delta force fps games.

novalogic realized their limitations & decided to cut their losses.

"capture the flag", & even more so "king of the hill" would have been great fun in C4.

but that is just a bit more than a MOD, although possible for a creative cracker, only novalogic could really code the game for it, and that aint gonna happen :(

Comanche 4 is still allot of fun as it sits you have to admit but with some of the options left out it tends to leave people frustrated. Novalogic makes some excellent games but they seem to have this knack for releasing their games incomplete. I tend to agree hole heartedly with Rus (and I don't know why..LOL) that Novalogic's Delta Force series is where it’s at. With the release of Task Force Dagger and eventually Black Hawk Down the Comanche4 series just might stay at number 4 for a long time.

Honestly it was ashamed the way nova did this game. They released it and it was not complete I agree. I remember getting it and couldnt get online. When I did call the long distance number to get support they said its not advertised as a Multiplayer game. I was pissed. It said on the box multiplayer. They didnt want to offer support. Then finally released a patch to get it online and that was about it. I didnt care for it particularly myself. I only played a couple times.

My favorite game type has always been what is called "Defend and Destroy".

Instead of Team DM or CTF, your goal is to destroy the other's team's base, and vice-versa, in the meantime defending each other's base. Simple yet probably the most team-oriented and rewarding gametype.

It seems this could be done with map-making in a game like C4:

"Snake's Pit
The only way to win this game is to destroy the enemies base completely, all targetable structures. points should be irrelevant. I suggest an "infinite" time setting and at least 100 set for point limit.

Game: C4
Map Type: Team Deathmatch
Author: rattlesnake
File Info: tdmver2.zip 11k 05-Mar-2002
Click to Download
Number of downloads: 352"

http://www.checkpointdelta.net/cgi-bin/db.cgi?db=default&uid=default&Game=C4&sb=6&so=descend&view_records=1&mh=16&nh=3

That's a perfect example of Defend and Destroy. Would be great to see alot of maps, or simple in-game map conversions to this.
