ip to ip problem

:stupid2:Trying to setup an ip to ip connection, i'm using cable... friend is on dial-up.Have lastest nova update.I host the game.How does my friend join my game? he is using a service different provider (different ip range).he has tried to enter the ip address in c4.cfg file, no luck.Do you need to go through novaworld to connect ip 2 ip ? what are we missing???? plz help

we're playing c-4, when we go through nova world, it's just downright slow...and espescially unfair to my friend since he is using dial-up, when I'm using cable.I just thought maybe someone had come up with a little utility to allow direct input of the ip address into the found hosts list.It seems stupid I know, but I just crush him due to his lag, and it does seem to skip around alot for me too.Was hoping to cut out the middle-man.Thanks anyways :smilegrin:
