It's a nice little Win7 box I bought as a server to monitor my cameras. Wasn't really ideal for video surveillance (I have quite a few cameras on the property), so I replaced it. All of that equipment has backup power and communication - something I'm not going to do with this server. I'm going to play with it this weekend, and see what it will do. I'll keep your offer in mind, thanks.
I just scrounged up some used stuff from our storage room, and got the sign off to take it home, it will make a nice build for an actual PC/Workstation,
I scored a SuperMicro tower server with an X9 dual socket motherboard, with a single Xeon Hex core onboard, and 80GB of DDR3 ECC Ram(4 x 16gb, 2 x 8gb), I went on Ebay and found the identical proc for 60 bucks and just ordered it, should be here in like a week, Ill add that in the empty socket which will double the PCI-E bandwidth since that board only supports all of its PCI-E slots if both procs are present, I will have to grab a power supply from Frys Electronics, as the box only has a measly 300W in it.
I have a Mid range radeon card in it for the moment i found in a junk pile, and a used 120 GB SSD i pulled out of my server a while back to drop in another 480gb.
Right now i have windows 7 64 freshly installed with no prod key, and haven't even loaded the basic drivers or updates yet as time ran out.
Im a little skeptical of how well a dual socket system will work out for a gaming rig tho, even with all that power onboard, it will total out to 12 cores, 24 threads.... 2 x Xeon E5-2420 V2s https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Xeon-E5-2420v2-Processor-2-20GHz-15MB-Cache-6-Core-SR1AJ-LGA-1356-CPU-A/142623228450?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

TBH, I don't see how that is going to run C4. Just doesn't have the horsepower. Sorry man..:joystick.gif:
Hay Hay....

my concern is more to the point, ive heard rumor that dual socket systems can have strange issues in first person shooter style games with graphics issues. Something to do with the added latency of communication between cores on seperate sockets. I should be able to run like 60 instances of C4 simultaneously on this box, however will i see strange issues even with just 1 instance running, thats what im worried about...

Do you have skype or google hangouts?
Not on my new computer, but I was looking into this program named Discord from what I understand it's pretty stable and doesn't use much too run.

The videocard i pulled out of a pile turned out to be a GeForce 8600 GS, so i will need to track down a better GFX card. But this box is fricken amazing, running windows 7 pro with both of those Xeon chips, 12 cores, 24 threads, 80 GB DDR3, lol but only a 120 GB SSD.
The machine moves around programs almost pre-emptively, programs load so quickly it seems like it expected me to launch it ahead of time. The level of snappy response is incredible. When i get a better gfx card i will also need a psu, because one of in it doesnt even have 6-8 pin PCI-E Power Cables.
Which vidcard are you planning on getting?, I do believe I once had
the same 8600 GS.

Looks like you are missing some computer cores on the bottom right. Are some of them shut off or are they just broken ? I mean, so basically the computer is just not powerful enough to fill up the rest of the block..? Too bad.

X9 Dual Socket boards arent too hard to come by, and these procs i have can be found for 60-100 each because they only work in servers and there isnt a huge demand for them as most servers come with them.
the best X9 Board to use is the X9DAI which has multi PCI-E so you can SLI, etc. I might eventually switch boards if i see a nice price on one of those. X9DAI also has twice the RAM Slots, meaning ~200 GB RAM possible.
:help:DANG IT DANG IT .....:help:

I picked up a GTX 1050 TI 4GB Card yesterday for this thing, and I have never seen such smooth lifelike graphics as on this machine.
