To any one interested over the last few weeks I have been researching and putting together a history/ biography site about Comanche 4. the scope of the site is to cover everything C4 related from release to present time. This includes all the squads and info about a number of members of the community who played rolls in running servers, creating maps utilities and other game enhancements. At this time I am a few weeks away from uploading the site. Most of the research is complete. The site pages have been started and I am just about done with most of the information I wanted on the site. I have made every effort to do this with an even sided view of every thing that has occurred over the last 10 years. Once the site is online members of the community are welcome to address the information on the site and add/revise any information they would like to see included.

A while back Blue started listing all the squads from c4 and asked members to do a small history of their squads. That triggered the idea of a complete history site that covers every thing c4 related, I have completed a history page for die squad. it's posted here --> ( http://ncscrew0.tripod.com/diesquad/diesquad.html ) <-- For the rest of you to see to get an idea of what you might want to do. With so few of us left, and much of the information disappearing, with no way to re-cover it, this should be done now.

I have tracked down web archived sites and linked those sites to the history site already for the following squads:

Shadows Of Night, Squad V 23, Secret Attack Squadron, Silent Assault Inc, Rogue Comanche, Night Prowlers Clan, Natural Born Killers, Lightning Raiders Squadron, Low Altitude Warfare, KA7 Checkered Devils, Issue Silent Assault, Irish Fire Squadron, Independence Squad, Fight With Pride, Fighting War Devils, Friends United Squadron, Comanche Attack Squadron, European Fighter Alliance, Deep Strike Squadron, Death Is Everywhere, Creatures Of Night, Black Sheep Squadron, Black Knights Collective, Best Players Squad, Assault Second Edition, Air Prowlers Squad, 1st Air Cavalry

I was un-able to find archives or currant sites for these:
Comanche 4 Veterans, CHAOS, Comanche Independent Alliance, French For Fun Squadron, LMB, National French Team, SS Squad, Spanish Power Team, STFC, Tetra Hostile Commandos, Team Poland TPL.

If any squads are missing from the lists let me know, if any of these squads a active now with squad sites post a link for me.

Now for the squad history pages Blue asked for, Any squad member who can not create a webpage and is willing to write the info up via a word page document and send it to me I will do a page for you. please include your call sign so I credit the informaion. Send it to reaperdie2000@yahoo.com. It would be nice if a member of any of the squads with no information at least try and send a roster list as best they remember it.

Hiya Reaper!

The DIE Squadron history was an entertaining read! Saw some cool pilot names I forgot about (Thang, Hunter, GrapeNuts,Undertaker, Meat, and that freakin Copenhagen who was a trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I know when y'all started playing BlackHawk Down, I played with you and RAB a bit and joined the clan you started named NCS (Night Crew Squad), remember? :) We had lots of fun! I miss that.

I think it's a good idea you have to start a C4 history site. You were always one of the friendliest, most helpful, and most knowledgeable members in the C4 community, and a substantial contributor! I miss you man! I remember you used to have to come in the C4 servers with an alias because so many players will start talking to you and distract you from really getting into the game play. LMAO, those were some very good times!!!

I see you were unable to get any info on a few of the old/new C4 squads. I was talking to a couple of the C4V members in their Teamspeak 3 server, and I passed on to them what you're doing with a C4 history site. They said they will make a post here at CPD and leave you some info on their squad. For one thing, they have changed their name from Comanche 4 Veterans (-=C4V=-) to Comanche 4 Veterans Elite (still C4V as a tag -=C4V=-)

Anyway, it's always good to see you around, Reaper! Shoot me a PM here or contact me at my email thomasabarnes(at)yahoo(dot)com and let me know what games you're playing now-a-days or if you have a teamspeak I can join for some chatting, let me get the info? I might already have a game you play. Though, I don't have many. I have Battlefield Bad Company 2 and COD MadernWarfare 2 among a few others. Have you seen that new game called Apache: Air Assault?

See you around ole buddy!

This is what I was trying to do here Reaper. (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=380667369467&v=app_2344061033#%21/event.php?eid=157214187659773&index=1) Was I just not moving fast enough ? Anyway, I guess I'll try to get a grip on where you are going with your endeavor so I can complement it with a lighter version with squad info. I'm just a bit confused at the moment.

After actually reading the post again and understanding where you are coming from, all I can say is thank you again for all you have done - and continue to do - for this community.

I totally misunderstood where you were headed with this. Thanks again Reaper.

I was going to do this back in 2007. http://www.checkpointdelta.net/showthread.php?4522-Auto-Explode&p=21853&highlight=#post21853 But it was way to much for me. I want to wish you good luck with this page, any help or info you need let me know I might have it.

Let me explain some stuff so everyone understands what my intentions are here. This is a CPD project I am building the pages for CPD, and the history part is much more than a single page of information. The idea here is to have a complete 10 year history of the game, With lots of tib bits of information that many players would read and think humm I didn't even know that. I am going to cover everything the good, bad and the ugly, even the flare wars over nocounts, TD, all of the un-pleasant events that took place , everything we as a community have experianced over the years in a manner that doesnt point fingers or bring up bad blood. A number of players are going to be mentioned, when they are it will always be in a positive light, no shots taken at anyone. Some of the information is opion based (mine). Everyone will get a chance to address the history and add their input. Web archives are just one small part so players can go back in time and see the old squad sites. I have tracked down the archives for resouce sites/fan sites for the same reason. Once all the information is complete I will go over it with Blue and make sure everything is in a manner that is fit for the community to have, then the pages will be uploaded, members of the community will have the chance to read it and add anything they would like added, then a final version will be completed and uploaded, once that is done any thing the community wants to address or talk about can be done of the forums here.

The offer still stands to get the squad history pages done for you. If your not sure how to do one just send me a few stories of about the squad and a list of the players you remember. To help I am going to post a webpage with the old squad archives links in the next week as a place to start. That was how I did mine and I was one of the founders of the squad, I didn't remember all the members and since I posted it I found a few more I need to add.

The web squad archives page I will be posting at this time is not part of the site, it is just a resource for you to find information and jog your memory. The DIE site is not even the completed version it was a sample so you can get a idea of what you might want yours to look like.

Look the best way to do this was for 1 member of the community to start the project with a clear idea of what it should include. Then let everyone have a part that wants one, thats where I am headed with this. Any way I hope this clears up what my plans are.

Reaper,

Could you please give me the tags for the following Squads:

V 23 Squad
Assault Second Edition
1st Air Calvary
Independence Squad
Best Players Squad

They may be simple and obvious, but I would like to get them right to add the sub-domains and links.

Ok with out causing more confusion, The page I am going to up load next week so squads can use the squads linked to web archives, to research for their history pages has 40 squads listed I have tried to use the tag the squads show on their web sites this would be how they use them in game? but with out the (- ~)type symbles. Some tags I had to create the tag for. I have 40 squads listed, I have not checked the list I have against the one here in the last 2 weeks. I also do not know what squad is still active and who is not. Any way here are the ones you asked about:
V23, ASE, 1cav, IND, BPS

We need to get on some type of voice chat in the next week or so we can go over this whole process.
