I didn't get Everything done to release the Oddyssey Mod Beta this last week:
So here is where the mod is at at this point: I am hoping to release the beta next week.
13 DM maps are complete. One more map to create, 13 is bad luck lol.
TDM maps, I have 2 more maps to convert from DM to TDM game types (TDM get the best 5 from DM) and 2 more new TDM maps to complete.
3 S&D maps are complete (got hung up trying to fix the way points this week, one of the reasons why beta isn't ready)
2 KOTH maps are complete (koth was not well received in C4 so 2 is all I made).
2 TKOTH are ready ( converted form the KOTH versions).
New way point names for red base, blue base and alpha are worked into maps as they are created. Names changed to fit the map.
Beta terrains are complete, The beta will not be released with all terrains, I am going to use the mod terrains in the beta, and add the re-mastered terrains in the full version.
All stock maps/missions removed. (no single player or coop are planned for the beta or full version release (first full version anyway, may be added to an update later).
wav files cleaned up, The stock talking sound files have been re-moved
Beta game Menu, still need to fix 3 game type listings to not available messages. Full version menu will replace 1 graphic file that is finished.
The load screen game graphic needs to be created.
Game .exe files:
Both versions are ready, beta will be releaded with version V1.0.1.15 only.
full version will include V1.0.1.20 in a zip file located in the game folder to change versions when serving.
As a side note I need to contact Avenger for permission to use his
UD version.exe code fix to list unlocked games in the menu for the full version release.
I know how he did it, But I can't use that fix with out his permission. With out the fix to serve unlocked game types in V1.0.1.20 the host must change a setting in the game config file. If he doesn't want his .exe used, The v-2 .exe is the one bane gave me years ago.
/TD cheat was removed from both version.exe files. The cheat where player change the comanche was addressed also, The mod was designed to only use the mod .exe files (Copy/paste can not be used to change game .exe files in the mod. Players will need to hack the mod to use /TD and some other cheats again.
There are some conflicks in the game Def files/bin files I need to fix (easy ones).
The mod uses fixed versions of the med to map with, 2 versions are being used, The mod Beta/full version will not have the meds or usable med pff files in it.
A mappers kit will be released at the same time the full version is, You will need it to map Odyssey.
I still need to remove more un-used stock game items and textures, This is the most time consuming task, And another reason the beta isn't ready yet.
The C4mod website is still being updated the re-vamped pages will be uploaded when the beta is released,
The forum (my old Night Crew forum revamped )is open now, however the mod/mapper section is closed unless you register, general information sections are open to everyone.
