I can't for the life in me figure out how to put sound on me games. Do i need to transfer all the associated files to a folder which is then placed in C4? Also, how do i put sound in user created missions, specifically the ones i create, among others? And where? if the who, what, when, and why are relevant please instruct. LOL at last sentence, JK.

Well first off I can send you in a couple directions that will get you on your way to adding sound to your missions. In downloads, this site look for a file by Rustinsk named "ADDING SOUND DIALOGS TO YOUR C4 MAPS". This file is an excellent sorce of information in adding sound to your user made mission. Adding sound to your missions is tricky but once you actually get to the point of adding sound it seems relatively simple.

was able to change the apropriate lines of code in Action part of event. Play dialog is in events of the mission, just no sound. What to i do? thanks for the help thus far. In one day of C4 Forum I know more than in 3 weeks of febble attempts on my own. Thanks Charger, and the powers to be.

still having trouble putting in sound dialog to my games.
1- edited null event in mis. file to play dialog.
2- created a DBF file using the DLG editor.
3- exported the DBF file to C4 program.
4- still NO sound.
What did i do wrong; or, what did i not do?

I'm assuming your getting game sound but just no dialog? Check your settings for the game to make sure nothings abnormal there. If you set up your null markers in events accordingly, then change the dialog number value describe in the guide, the last and final thing you should do is to enter the dialog name next to the crv_file name in the mis file. If you make any changes in the mission and save again after entering all this most often the crv_file is blank again so in turn you may need to re enter the dialog entry again. If your still not getting the dialog in your missions then I’m stumped at this point and would like to get a copy of your mission to look at.

how easy it is to put sound in user created missions is right. :)
But, how do i compile individual .Wav files into a single DBF/LWF(ex. c01m01.DBF with must have c01m01.LWF) file for use in user created missions. Or are we limited to using the prescribed Dialog files from NOVALOGIC; i.e. c02m04.dbf, c05m03, etc.
I have tried making a DBF file via the "dialog editor" download on C4 site here. Taking all the appropriate steps.
1-making mission w/ null events for "DLG".
2-saving mission. 2a-open in MSword.
3-changed "cnv file" to "user created" dbf file name. Same exact name as saved by "dialog editor".
4-exported the "dbf"file to C4 program.
still no luck on compiling and exporting the user created DBF DLG.:(

Dracula is the only person that i lnow of that messed around with creating custom dialogs. i only did it once, just to see if it would work. i never really saw the point since only you would hear them.

are you packing these files into your pff?

am messed up meself, hehe. Ohh, so i would be the only one to hear them? In that case," i agrees wit UU". What would be the sense? Beyond the knowing it can be done. How crazy, the other pilots wouldn't even hear'em anyhow! Well, thanks on that subject, Rustinsk.:)
Is almost the end of Shelf-life for this post.

yes, only the person having the custom dialogs installed would hear them. so unless you somehow get the people your playing with to install them as well...
