I d/l some of the custom made missions but cannot get them to show up when I start C4. I put them in the C4 folder, but still no luck. I am sure this must have been already covered, but I looked over all of the pages of comments and I found nothing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

After starting the game click on "Single Player" then "Mission Archive" - Should be at he bottom of that page then hit "OK". All the downloaded custom maps should be listed.

Hi Charger
I don't see the mission listed anywhere. Where do I place the unzipped files so they will show up in the game? Thanks

Try editing your shortcut to C4. Right click on your the C4 shortcut -> go to properties -> and make it look like this ->
"D:\Program Files\NovaLogic\Comanche 4\c4.exe" /d
the /d must be outside the "quotation" marks on the target line.
The files go into the same folder as the c4.exe.

Also...
Just adding to be on the safe side, rechecking all possibility's - Make sure your "Unzipping" the custom map zipped files (to the Comanche 4 folder.)

I did as you suggested, but the missions will not show up. I did a search on my computer to try and find the missions that came with C4 and cannot find where they are located. I do not see them in the C4 folder or anywhere on my hard drive.
I unzipped the missions to my Commanche 4 folder but they will not show up when I play C4. What am I missing? I appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

You will not be able to see the maps that come with the game since they are in a pff (data) file. But if you download a custom map, unzip it to C4 folder -
Default install of the game, unless you installed it to a different drive, should be -
C:/Program Files/Novalogic/Comanche 4
You will be able to see the custom maps in that folder through file manager (explorer) and also should be able to play them in the "Single Player" option in the game.

Maybe i can help.....
1- Download and save your maps .ZIP file to your desktop.
2- Unzip all files to your Comanche 4 folder.
(located in C-Program Files-NovaLogic-Comanche 4)
3- If you dont already have a shortcut on your desktop, create a shortcut to start the game on your desktop. Then right click it and chose Properties. On the Shortcut tabs' "Target" box, change it so it reads "C:\Program Files\NovaLogic\Comanche 4\c4.exe" /d
(make sure there is a space between the " and the / )
Click Apply & Ok
4-Start the game and go to Single Player - Mission Archives
If all went correctly, you should be able to see your new map.

Thanks Charger and Knuckles for pitching in.
You know, it's funny. Some of us really take things for granted. When I first got on the internet or started playing missions - I don't know if I knew what a .zip file was or not.
I'm not saying that this would be the case here.. but I was just taking it for granted that we knew what a zip file was and one could navigate to the c4.exe.
My dad is a good example of this. He can do whatever I walk him through, but often I find myself having to back up - and explain what I mean by unzipping a file or 'right clicking' on a shortcut..
Whatever... thanks again for pitching in...

Good News. I managed to see the missions. I was going to Mission Archive and expecting to see the missions, but I had to go to OK for them to appear.
Now I have one final question. I unzipped many missions, but I only see one page of user mission that total 10. Where are the other missions that I unzipped. I thought another page would appear.
Again thanks for the kind assistance.

Yeah I posted that four or five posts ago... :wink1:
Not sure about the list as to just how many will show up. I don't think I've ever had that many at one time.

Did you try scrolling down?
Silly question i know, but the screen only shows 10 at a time.
Also, depending on how the file is zipped originally, it is possible that when you unzipped them to your comanche 4 folder, there are sitting inside another folder.
If that is the case simply open that folder and do this....
1-With folder opened press Ctrl and A keys at the same time
2- Press Ctrl and X keys at the same time.
3- Go back to your Comanche 4 folder
4- Press Ctrl and V keys at the same time.
Now that the files have been moved you should be able to see them.

Hey Guys,
It seems that only some of the missions that I d/l show up. I had to delete some of the missions from the C4 folder and add more to play different ones. I tried to scroll down, but the other missions did not show up. So far I have been able to play some of the missions and enjoy them. thanks.
I have one other question. When I am flying in the 1st Person View and change to the Cockpit or 3rd Person view, when I go back to the 1st Person View, it does not look the same. Has anyone else noticed this?
Thanks

Never had any problems.
F1=Cockpit View-No Panel(HUD)
F2=Gunner/Pilot-Panel
F3=3rd Person
F4=Flyby
The only thing I can think of is that F2 has two views with one key, maybe your hitting it twice?

I used WolfBlitz as my pilot name and it unlocked all of the missions including the ones I added that are user made missions. All is GREAT! C4 is the best flight sim that I have right one. It is fun, and the graphics (explosions) are excellent. it is fun flying around and blowing things up.
Again thanks for all of the assistance.
