TO all who see these words, Hello!
CFS began as a pipe dream in Dec 03, after the fall of ~1CAV~. Without a team to fly for, and not many choices available, Rotor6 and Scott began recruiting for this "new" team. First it was a handful of pilots; Payne and Diablo, Fly and Watch, Stealth... I think, and soon turned into one of the largest teams (30 pilots at one point) to ever fly C4.
I/We want to thank all of you for supporting us, helping us, putting up with us, and just for being our friends and Allys thru the last five years. We will not forget the helpful hints, the server support and the good times we have had with all of you.
To all current and former CFS pilots... I am proud to have known you and, in some cases, your family members. I am privileged to have been amongst you, and proud to have been your "Boss". If you continue to fly C4, I will surely see you and may even talk on TS once in a while. All of you made CFS a success! Be proud that you were here to make it happen.

Please stop in the server, say HI and fly with us, as we head to the last flight on 14 Dec.

I wish you all the very best..
Your Friend,

Rotor

Just wondering Rotor why that has to be your last flight? I mean It doesn't take a dedicated server to host a game nor to maintain a squad. Why can't some of your squad members offer to host at different times of the day? I hate to see the end of a good thing, unless it is because the burden of running a squad has gotten to be to much. If it is a financial issue, there really are ways aroung that. Just thought that I would throw that out there. Don't mean any dis-respct. Hoe that you don't take this the wrong way but you don't have to end the squad just becuase you are losing your server.

Thanks for the offer, but it's time to close the doors on CFS. It's not about server time, it's about participation, funding, and manpower. It's been five years and I am tired, Doggie and I are both tired of dealing with the server crap, the funding has not improved (over the last notes I posted in here) eventhough Doggie tried, and participation is down to just a handful. It's time to let it go...
We've had a good run and it's time to move on. We (individually) are not going to stop flying, we're just not going to be CFS. I'm sure you will still be shot by one of us.. sooner or later... LOL
See ya in the Skys..

It is always sad to see these things happen. Time marches on. The older I get - the more I wish it wasn't so... but it is.

Many sites that were open when I started here are now gone. Many players have just wandered off - including staff here - and never come back.

I often wonder what happened to some of the big contributors to our small part of the community like Othello, Pappy, Raven, Rot and LadyHawke - just to name a few. I guess they thought they would just disappear from people's thoughts.. Well, enough of the longing for the past..

Good Luck CFS.. and don't be strangers.

*CFS*

Have been a truly fine squad, as far as I can see over the years of C4.

No other squad has given so much to the game, not only mods and add ons but also a fine server that all of us have enjoyed.

I can say with hand on heart, that I have enjoyed every battle against them win or lose (mostly lose) lol.

Every match with them has been exciting and blood pumping, watching the score every moment.

Its a shame to see such a fine competitor leave this fighting arena, but all good things must come to an end.

I have made some great friends in *CFS*, And it would be wrong to watch them go, without letting each and every one of them know that they have made a great difference to C4!!

Unfortunately I cant get into their forums, so I have to put my thoughts here!!

Good bye and god bless *CFS*

All,
Thanks for the kind words. The CFS team is going away, but the competition is not. Most of us will continue to fly as individual pilots, so cover your SIX's!

Its been 5 years, time seems to fly but the best times I have ever had have been with CFS. No BS, no cheats, no tricks just some of the best friends anyone in a multiplayer team could have. C4 is still a fantastic game, a tight community, both in the servers and the forums. Thanks Rotor, for creating CFS, for inviting me to join I have been most proud to fly with you. To all my CFS buds past and present, you made CFS what it was, the best, the most honest, kick ass squad C4 has ever seen. You all came into my house a few nights a week, made life brighter when it was pretty down. Thanks to the spouses who put up with you! And let you fly. Thanks to you Bluetiereign and all the staff at CPD, you helped with discussions and advanced the game. And thanks to all the honest, great pilots out there who have flown C4 over the years. Ive killed many, been killed by many, and learned a lot from you all.

CFS will live long in our hearts way after the server shuts down. :thumb:

It was great playing with you fella's today and talking with you on TS. If my brand new install of Vista had not crashed later in the afternoon - I would have been back. By the time I got back - the server was down.

Thanks again for the good games - and the pleasant conversation.

Just wanted to say thanks to all who came to say goodbye and to fly with us on Sunday. I think that was some the best flying we have seen in any server, for quite a while. All had fun, all went smoothly, and the server even let us max it out LOL
From CFS to all of you... Merry Christmas and Good Fortune in the New Year.. See you in the skies..
