The thing is, Than in this moments I can not to conect me, for to play in multiplayer to Comanche 4.
Is It my problem, or is for cause of Nova world?

In about a month, Novaworld will be moved to a higher bandwidth location. This will cause an outage of a day or so as domains are repointed.

Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. But I have'nt heard of any other reason.

We're all down as far as I can tell, at least all of CFS is.. I guess I missed that note from Nova. Hopefully they will be back soon..we're all having withdrawls....

I sent notes back and forth on the Novaworld Forum, with a guy named "The Kyle". He says they took the C4 server down and as of last night were "checking it" I tried again this morining and still no C4. I sent him another PM to see what's up today and am waiting for a response. Hopefully, with the change of servers over to "high bandwidth" servers (this is what they are doing), we will be getting better connections and less lag for all.. Keep you fingers crossed.. If the widthdrawls get to bad you can always go back and play all those single player maps you never got around to... LOL

This is some of the info I got from KYLE, yesterday..

"I've just emailed our remote admins to make sure they are aware of the situation. Sorry for the delay, we are changing out hardware and moving machines that haven't been touched for years in some cases."

I would suggest that all of you send in a support request thru the Nova Support page. That way they know we are all waiting on them, and also to let them know that we don't want C4 to be turned off permanently!.. The more who ping them, the better.. I think..:comeandgetsome.gif:

More as I get it..

Yes, Comanche 4 has been up all weekend. The only problem is that the old login bypass doesn't seem to work. If you go with the origanal Startup.htm, you can create an account.

With that said, there is an issue of nameless players. From my understanding, it was that bypass that corrected that problem.

Is there a new bypass avalible? Or is there a new URL that can be wrote into the Startup? I know of 3 other people pulling there hair out now because of it.

We have heard that some were able to see the servers, but the majority could not get past the lobby page.. whether they used by-pass or not. I tried both ways over the weekend and got nothing.. I was told the name issue is fixable, but you'll have to talk to Doggie about it, cuz I don't remember the fix.. LOL I've slept since then
According to KYLE.. The servers running C4 (yours, ours, etc) all need to be rebooted and updated to pick up the latest info. If this is correct, then the bypass should still work. I've asked CFS (those at home today) to try to get in, and to let us know if there are issues. If there's need for a work around, we'll find out shortly.

Ok after banging my head on the walls for hours at a time, here is a login bypass.......

1-open STARTUP.HTM with notepad (located in c4 folder)
2- copy the following text and replace whats in there now.

You sure about all of that? My Start-up file is the By-pass file and it doesn't have any of that stuff in it, just a few entries (maybe 5) and the links?
I did however replace the HTTP links with yours and can get past the lobby, but then it sits on Loading... and then fails saying it cannot connect with the selected Novaworld Game.. Heck I never got to a game to select..LOL

So what's next?

I also tried your work around and got no where... It says unexpected error and never gets to the server page... ARGGGG!
I've sent 4 (now) requests to NOVA for help, I've received ZERO replies, except the automated "we got your email " BS.. I also called them and they have a recording that says look at the Forums and Help pages on Nova WOrld and NOva Logic if you need computer support... I need F**&^%$ GAME SUPPORT!! Man that chaps my hide (trying to be nice so I won't get edited LOL)
If you come across a fix that we all can use, please let us know... And Thanks for tryin'

I thought Nova had started requiring that everyone now log in to play their games... even DF2.
They can't do that for DF2, since the game wasn't designed for it, and no patch has been made to add support for such a requirement...

Ok Rotor, try opening a blank page in Notepad.
Copy the above and Paste it.
Save As STARTUP.HTM to a location (desktop easy to find)
Go to your c4 folder and remove your old startup.htm
Move your new STARTUP.HTM to your c4 folder.

Attached to this post is the one strait from my game.

All that extra stuff is just that... extras.
It shows additional information about the servers.

Your new HTM works for me! i did excatly as you said and it works!!

It would seam that if you use an un-orignal HTM (generated by the player manager for example) then your game will not get past the lobby page, untill you use Knuckles work around.

The one posted is one from Player-Manager.
All the other ones will work too but....
you need to make a change in the 2 URL address's

where it reads
gamelist=nw3.novaworld
url=nw3.novaworld

You will need to change that number 3 to the number 4.
That should work on any other bypass's that are out there.

After all the back and forth, we are all (mostly all) back in the game. Thanks to all who worked to get us back on line!!! No thanks to Nova.
As far as the registration question goes. I saw a post in the NovaWorld forums about that, while I was trying to find a reason why we could not get in. There was/is a statement that referenced sign in and registration for newer games, but it stated that older Nova games were not required to sign in or register players. It's in there, but you'll have to go in and look it up.

Is there problems with the startup.htm again? I've had it working perfectly the last few days but this afternoon, I can't get into anything again. It won't even go to the login page... Any help?

I can't get in either... something has changed. What ever it is, is causing the game to keep running after shut down and putting a big load on my Vid card?

About the problem of conection with NovaWorld servers of C4, I had changed the file HTM than I had, for the original of the game.
Then with my name and password, I had finded Loggin in, and now I am in the game again...:waving.gif:
When I can to play again, we shall can to be again together...

Nova is moving there servers around. Last I heard they should have things back up some time this weekend.

Hello Gentlemen, :waving.gif: I connected to NovaWorld today, I was updating some maps, the Server seemed to be fine. I went for a Constitutional with my Pooch at about 17.00Hrs-GMT, and left my (=FUN=24/7) Server running it seemed to still be running on my return at 20.00Hrs-GMT. I booted my Player computer and got no response from Nova's Server, so (me being stupid) thought it was my problem and rebooted everything, I ended up resetting my Router back to Factory Settings (D'oh) and still no response from Nova.
I am hoping everything will be back to normal soon (Gasp! Gasp!).
Ghost=FUN= has a Modified 'Startup-HTM' which he distributed amongst some of us, I have deleted my Original Startup, and the Startup supplied to us on CPD, so I am hoping I haven't buggered things up.
There are no notices on the =FUN= forums, so I am not sure if the =FUN= Squad know about this.
I will keep checking........

Try going to Novalogics website at www.novaworld.com (http://www.novaworld.com) . If that page does NOT load for you and you cant login manualy, then chances are they are down for whatever reason. Give them time to get it all sorted out, Im sure they will have it back up soon. :alcoholic.gif:

Hey guys there is a way to play your games without novaworld all together , all you need is a program called Battle.Lan get someone to host or start up a server then they give out their IP address to the ones that want in and they enter the ip in the Battale.lan program click add and save then start . Then load the game click on lan , instead of novaworld and then click on search and when it finds the server you click on join and start playing . The host or server doesn't need to start Battle.lan just the ones wanting in game but each person will need the Battle.lan program installed and running to get in game . This can be done even if Novaworld is up and running . I have found a few problems with this and that is some may not be able to find the host for some unknow reason , firewalls or something . For those that can find the host it works great . Oh yes when you enter a game thru lan you do not need to login thru Novaworld

Hey guys go to Jabber.org and register and then go to wippien.com and download wippien , install it , click on i have existing jabber account ,use your jabber.org address in wippien in the (JID) box , the password you used on jabber then click on test account it should in a few seconds pop up saying sucessfull , you are ready to go >>>and get the others you play with to do the same and add each other to the contact list in wippien program .Then someone needs to load wippien and load game and host game in lan and then the ones that want to play load wippien program and then start game and click on lan /search when host shows /join game . Setup for wippien is pretty easy for XP but for windows 7 there is a little more work involved . Program works with most all if not all the games so Have Fun Guys . Hope Nova comes back soon but until then you can still injoy the game this way.
