Hello Gentlemen, If you notice my server, despite being run on a very fast 20Mg internet connection, and on a very decent computer, has a lot of CI's.
I have not set up a static server yet, as I was getting problems with configuring the TCP/IP Settings.
I have registered a host name with 'DynDNS.com' as <fun-squad.game-server.cc> but I do not know how to configure my Linksys Router to accept that! Can anyone advise me how to incorporate my host name into the router so I can use a safe static server?

I'm a little confused why you don't just port forward to the server. Is this your home router, a busness network or is this a game service server. I get the impression you want to set the router to a stadic ip address in the set up options.
The set up page has the options to fill in the domain and host names. Are you trying to manually assign the DHCP settings?
Under set up the DDNS settings have the option to fill in the settings to access the network via using domain names, you would fill in the information the service gave you.
About the CIs,
It shouldn't matter if this is done automatic or you assign the settings, The cis would be the same.
If you are trying to correct the cis it may be the router needs a new filmware version or you need a better maybe newer router.
You can set stadic ips on the pcs on the network to take some work off the router to help.
AS to a safer server the best advice is to leave the block wan request blocked, the players wont get a ping but it will help protect you from hackers. If this is your home server don't turn off the firewall either.
Not much help I know, I little more information about what you want to do would help.

You may have already done this?
The IP for a Linksys (to see the system info, logs, etc) is 191.168.1.1. once you are there, you should go to Gaming and Applications, then QOS, and then to Device Priority.. and set your PC to HIGHEST Priority, with bandwith to auto. Then look at the PORT number.. which hole you have your wired PC plugged into, and set that port to HIGH and Disable Flow control. Next, go down one more block, and set application priority, with the name being the key string to start the game..(C:\programs\Novalogic\C4.exe) or whatever yours requires. Next set the priority there to HIGH and leave the ports alone.
I did mess with Static IP last week, just to see what it did... I was not sure about some of the settings, so I left it alone. With the settings above, I rarely get real CI's.. I get those floaters once in and while.. but rarely see a real CI.. exept in the Euro Servers.
Anyway, I hope this helps.
