Hello Gentlemen, I use Windows Live OneCare as my security on my PC, it came up with an alert (right out of the blue) whist the computer was idle. The alert was for something called 'Win32/Comscore.B' I checked on the internet and I was notified, it was a very dangerous 'Droppler', Which I assume to mean it is a program designed to drop malware or monitoring sofware onto my PC. I then checked my Task Manager and checked the security list, I found that someone, or it maybe a Bot, has tried to access my computer 6 times, using an application called Advapi.exe (which is malware) but they also had M/Softs ASAPI Admin Rights.
As you may know by now, I am ex Forces and I still contract to any pro western countries military, but I am aware of some goings on around me, because things just aren't right, I am in contact with the police about all this, but I am concerned that I may be getting hacked, but there again it may be the authorities try to keep an eye on me,
I know all this sounds paranoid, but the last time something like this happened 10 of my Forces mates died, I do not wish to let that happen again.
So if anyone can advise me here, I would be most grateful.

if you need to be anonymous and untraceable, get a laptop and only connect from free motel internet from your car. always have good firewall running, use a cleaner after every session, and reboot. I have a nice firewall now called 8signs that I like very much, has a learning curve, but nice features. there used to be a nice utility called anonymiser that let you anonymously surf the web (don't know if it still exists) through a proxy.
if you leave your computer at home running all the time it may eventually be hacked. If you have no servers running then don't leave it running all the time. do regular malware cleans.
I can't say if you are being paranoid or not, not familiar with this malware. most is just junk either trying to spam others with advertising or you with advertising. if you have a decent firewall, check all the ips it connects to and write them down to check later after you clean it just to see if they pop up later (this may or may not help)
good luck

Upon researching what you have indicated finding ( 'Win32/Comscore.B'), it seems to be nothing more than a trojan... and a BHO (Browser Component) at that. If people were really attacking or trying to gain access to your computer, I would think they would use something a bit more 'viral'....
The Advapi thing... that is a more dangerous,
This backdoor malware has the following features:
log keystrokes made on the target system
steal passwords
edit the registry
issue destructive batch scriptsSomehow, it had to get to your computer... you need to tighten up the security a bit...
Looking at your other concerns - I would definitely keep the authorities updated.

Hello Again Gentlemen, further to my question about the thingy's put onto my PC, I have now got further evidence of hacking, I booted up a couple of days ago, and it immediatly went into a chkdsk scan, I had not arranged that, I let it run, and there were unrecognised files on the computer, so the chkdsk scan deleted and repaired them, but I ran a disc cleanup the yesterday, and I found, by accident, that these files had been saved, so I kept them, the only problem I have is, how can I gain access to them? I need to get the details printed. If anyone can help here I would appreciate it.
