I have one way poiny. and one jeep and one Truck. Groups 7 & 21

I need the group 7 to stop at wayapoint 2, 5
and I need group 21 to stop at 2, 4

They seem to over stop the stop points, If you get my meaning

Set your waypoint marker a little before the actual point you want it to stop. Another thing you might want to do is in the properties for the waypoint marker - in the waypoints box set the "Distance" down a little. I think the default is 10 so maybe try 5 and see if that helps.

Another thing - I don't know exactly how the DF2 editor is but you might be able to set the speed of the vehicles. In the vehicles properties set the "Combat Speed" and "Patrol Speed" when the vehicles gets to the last waypoint to "0"

I'm not absolutely sure how to write this out for DF2 but if you look you'll find these options in the events list.

The default for DF2 is 4. and yes I tried that too. I even tryed setting it up so that when it reachs one waypoint, it sows down to 0. You see the Jeep stops where it should, what happens is that the truck overs shoots the way point and runs in the rear of the jeep. This is what I been trying to tell other forums members. and its like well this should work and I try and tell them its not.

and way the speed controll is set by a group. I can change the group velocity to any thing I way. I have them in two groups.

Group 7 Jeep
Group 21 Truck

They follow a waypoint 2
the jeep stops at waypoint 2, 5
and the truck should stop at 2, 4
well the trucks over shoots it waypoint and rams the jeep in the rear. This is a project that I'm ready to give up on.

If I'm understanding this correctly - your problem is that your setting all the vehicles on the same waypoint correct?

Thus if the first truck stops at 2,4 and you want the next vehicle in line to stop before 2,4 so it doesn't run into the first vehicle.

Well for starters its almost impossible to get the vehicles to stop one behind the other one the same waypoint - and probably doesn't matter if you get the first one to stop on 2,4 and the one behind it to stop on 2,3 because the way waypoints are set up its hard to get a vehicle to stop on a specific waypoint in a single waypoint list - or at least this is what I've noticed.

I would have all the vehicles follow the same waypoint list to a certain point - then at the point of stopping I would set each vehicle to its own waypoint and set the waypoints in such a way to look as if they are stopping as near behind one another as possible, or even side by side.

I haven't worked with the DF2 editor in years so I'm not sure just how the events routine would be set up.

Something along the lines of -

(If) group A reaches waypoint 2,7
or group B reaches waypoint 2,7 (make sure its or and not and)

(Then) make Group A follow waypoint 3,0
make Group B follow waypoint 4,0

I think you get my point?

Thats what I don't under stand is before I added more to the map. It did work, You should be able to get a jeep to stop and waypoint 2, 5 and a truck to stop at waypoint 2, 4. any way I have some one checking it out, I sent them the *..mis file. I hope to here some thing back by to night.

Thanks for your help. at this time I didn't know what to do. I'm just tired of all the sysdump.txt crashes

unsure of df2 been yrs he he but dflw had a limit on number of waypoints that could be used for a event and for the map in general. i uninstalled all NL products and dumped my map making hints tips and tutorials but tier around here some where
dflw item count source dflw editor manual

the mission editor tool requires a min screen res of 800x600.for best results set res to 1024x768. it is also recomended that ya have at least 160 meg free ram when useing the editor.
total # of decorations and bldg's = 1024
total # of vechiles and objects = 1024
total # of marker's [ snds wp and triggers] = 512
total # of ppl AI or player = 256
if you exceeded the #'s then a error will appear when you try to export it sometimes it will allow ya to export anyways and game will only render the max amount for the item. if you place stuff outside the big green square you may experince problems also.source http://www.dfarena.com/vbforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6165 about everything you need to map in df1-2-dflw-dftfd-C4 the basics are the same some of the events operate different. dfbhd and beyound is a total different creature alot of us used to be heavy into NL mapping anything. ive personally played with all n/l editors from AF2-3 YF22-2-3 comanche gold and C4 and all df titles df1-joe played dfx few time.

If I set it at 1024 by 768 I have a hard time seeing the screen. I'm blind in my right eye. and I have been putting things out side the green square. Could that be the problem. I was tring to make my missions last longer. Thats not much map to work with. The stats you gave me a bove I havn't reach. Not even close. less then 168 Objects, cars, trucks and buildings.
trees.

Ok, I make some chances and let you know

If you place multiple vehicles on a single waypoint, its near impossible to get them to stop on each waypoint marker, probably due to the way the events needs to be set up and the games engine just doesn't allow for it. You'd have to have all the ending waypoint markers fairly close to one another and its common knowledge that vehicle will get confused as to what marker they are suppose to be going to when they are to close together. You get this choppers as well if your not careful.
