Kills with one hit?

Greetings.

I have a lot to learn about Comanche 4 and I'm asking everybody to help me understand something that is bothering me.

I've been playing a lot of C4 over this last few weeks. Although I'm not exactly a novice, there are many much better pilots than I still around so I completely understand why, sometimes, I get creamed.
But, against a few pilots, I see myself being killed in a way that I find odd.

I can see the missiles coming, usually only 3 or 4 in different trajectories, and my chopter explodes at the first hit, usually with a big explosion. I would say that most times the missile seems to be larger and darker than a 'normal' stinger.

A couple of these guys tell me it may be lag that makes me see several missiles as one.
I found this hard to believe as it doesn't happen with all the pilots at the match but only with a couple of them and always the same.
Is the lag a 'problem' on their side and it is giving them an advantage?

Others say that they fire several missiles at a time so it appears it is only one. One even told me that he usually fires 6 or more.
Well, that's also hard to believe as the missiles are fired one from each side of the chopter, meaning that 2 missiles fired one after the other will be deployed from different sides, therefore taking different trajectories. Also, unless the attacker is hovering still (which hardly ever happens), the movement of the chopter would make all the missiles take different trajectories. So, they could not appear as one.

Although these 'events' are odd, I can't believe all these guys (including some squad members) would cheat and I must be becoming paranoid.

So, there must be some other explanation and I'm asking your help to understand it.
Is the joystick setup for (extremely) rapid fire? How do you do that?
Is it something else? What?

Rant, that was me you were playing today and yes I was truthfull when I said that it was about 6 stingers. Sometimes I just sqeezed the trigger till you died.

You also stated to me in that server that you were not using the programming software that came with your 3D Pro joystick. If you load it up, and select New Command for your trigger, you can Record the Enter key. Under Record is Options, you can adjust the repeat speed there. After you do this you will notice your stingers come out much faster than you can ever pull the trigger (same effect by holding Enter on k/b).

With this faster speed, you enemy will probly see it as only one stinger if they are coming strait at him and tracking.

Not a problem. I have mine set on the max. You only need to hold it for a second for a few to come out.

Hey Knuckles will the file have any effect player side on the 1 hit server mod I run now and then. Or does it address the players using sidewinders ?.

I am extremly disapointed with the cheaters within the C4 community, and it is a shame that this has happened. I ask myself why these people cheat? who are they fooling? = only themselves.
The Comanche game is a good one and if people feel the need to be superior, by using cheats, then they are a sad lot.
Skill is a learned proccess, some people have a skill for flying and if some people have a skill with computers, they should not use it to advance their position within the game. This game is designed to be flown not hacked or modified. If you look at real aircraft, all aircraft are designed around the person. ie: if you push the stick forward the plane goes down, its a natural thing. Modern avionics are able to be adapted to suit the pilot, ie: if the pilot feels comfortable using reverse controls (an extreme example) then he is able to do that within the onboard avionics system.
I fly C4 to enjoy myself but it is getting hard to do that with all the bitching and modifying going on. I am now getting interested in other games, much more complex than C4. but will still fly C4 for some R&R.
I hope all you guys can sort yourselves out and enjoy the game without being wired.

Hey Knuckles sorry I'm so late, like to thank you for the files they seem to work OK. But the thing that bothers me is the pilot that came out with that cheat or was using that cheat still is. IV3TMM, he is in a squad, still wearing the squad tag, still using the cheat when he can. It was not to long ago that he would have been banned from C4 by all squads, but now??

Cheating is a part of any online Multi Player Game.
1. No bodies computer is the same there for those with better computers are cheating because they have an advantage. (This is True)

2. No bodies Internet Connection is the Same There for Those with a better Connection Are Cheating Because They have an Advantage. (This is True)

3. Your Monitor is bigger so You See stuff Better, Your Cheating. (This is True.

4. Your Using a Glitch in the Game Like Leaning to the left its a cheat.

I could go on and on but the moral is everything is a cheat when you play online , Someone always has an advantage.
My advise is that if you don't like cheats then Play single Player or on a LAN WIth all Identical Systems.
So Stop Whinning and Cheat With every one Else or Play Checkers with Grampa , Just Maybe He Won't Cheat.:crazy257.gif:

You are not going to find many supporters on this forum that support cheating. Your post shows what side of the fence you play on. Many of us just don't want to play on your side.

There is no difference, either way its an advantage. I was like you till I thought about it.
If you have a crap computer and a crap connection how can you compete with those with awsome stuff.
The Only way to level the playing fiel is to say anything goes because it does anyways.
Look at all the squads using aimbot yet non admit but I can tell everyone who is using the hack.
50% of the players cheat and the amazing thing is when a cheater gets owned he starts complaining of cheaters.
Its sickning.
Now If you say anything goes then at least the NOOBS can get there cheats too.
Squads tend to be the makers of the hacks and the most users tend to be squad members.
I pesonaly just play for Fun , if I wanna play serious its alway on LAN where all systems can be checked.
Also You consider a lot of things cheats, well how bout video cards that give xray view and ones that dont render fog, There out there.
Theres no sense whinning as there will allways be cheaters on multi player games , as the whole system is setup to advantage those who either have money or brains.

Thats what cheat means. No where is it defined as you see it. By your line of thinking if 2 guys are running a race, the guy with longer legs is cheating, so it's ok if Mr shorty starts the race half way to the finish line.

By the way a player that turns off default video settings to remove fog in many games will get banned if punk buster gets a screen shot. I have never heard of a video card setting to give you xray so you can see thru stadic item on a terrain.

How ever in the case where there is a system error or graphics problem thats not a cheat, Unless the player explotes it is such. Honest players would find the tech support they need to fix the issue. Your excuses still don't hold water. Doesn't matter if a squad cheats IT IS STILL CHEATING and honest players will not play with them.

A few years ago, I stopped playing because the way many people were behaving made me sick.
At first, it was guys playing 8H and not admiting it. Then suicide FARP. Then keys programmed for resetgames. Then messing with the ADSL connection. Then ...

After a couple of years, I came back and recalled why I loved the game so much. The graphics are incredible and the pace of the game makes my heart rush.
I really love this game!

But I returned in a time it's even worst than before.
I engage an opponent and the lock is broken for no apparent reason. An opponent is right in front of me and I can see him against the sky but can't lock on him (he tells me that he was flying low although he was above me). I fire 12 or 14 stingers against the side or rear of an opponent who is just hovering and nothing happens to him, he turns and kills me. I engage an opponent and my chopter practicaly freezes and takes ages to turn. An opponent goes into a group of trees to avoid being hit by my Stingers and doesn't sustain any damage. An opponent, after engaging and killing one of my teammates is high against the sky, I lock on him and fire 28 missiles, they all explode on him without causing any damages and, immediately after, he engages "warp speed" and flys aways. Missiles coming from so far away that I can hardly hear the rotor and killing me. Missiles coming from nowhere and killing me without warning. And many more.

Some of these situations may have a reasonable explanation. Sometimes I'm told that it is lag. But it's always the same guys, even though some of them keep changing tags. If it was lag or simply the way the game works, it would happen with everybody.

Now it's the Sidewinders. Someone managed to hack the game and pretends that it makes him a better player because he gets more kills.
(BTW, VJGatorass, your argument is complete BS. And I don't think I even need to explan why because anyone who can write complete sentences knows it.)

Using programable joysticks to fire 6 or 12 missiles at a time may not be a cheat. But it ruins the game, at least for me. On top of all the rest is reason enough to play as little as possible.

When I did I found, because of my skill in game, I was doing better than usuall, because the PC was better (faster) but I became lax and, although I dont have to fight so hard, I still achieve a good result and would like to improve my "skill" in game.
Online gaming IS a skill and cheaters are just a bunch of losers.....
I ask you, Reaper, can you please get rid of this 'SheiserKopf' along with the other cheaters, I love this game and the friends Ive made here & these A$$holes are just ruining it for the rest of us.

After all these years the graphics, still make the game worth playing. I still play now and then, Sometimes I put a koth server up other times it is dm. I stopped playing any thing but 1 hit version 1.5 with macros turned off along time ago. When I run the server I still get complaints about version 1.5 from some players, Who even with 1 hit settings are not willing to turn thier macros off. So I take a minute to explain why they should, sometimes they turn them off other times they don't. If some of the old time players see my yahoo message showing I have a server up they come play a few games.

C4, well whats left of it will never have enough anti cheat to protect the honest players. That boat sailed a long ago. The few guys who were willing to spend the time to program and help the community where all ran off by the community it self. To much bickering and bs.

That leaves players 2 options either uninstal the game and don't play or decide what type of game is fun for you, get some like minded players and put a server up. When someone comes in and is cheating or wont play by the rules you want to use then punt, or ban them.

The truth is the only way to controle the game is with a server who is present
and can keep the game protected.

This thread has had every thing said that needs to, So I am going to close with a list of things other players have taken the time to do for C4. The Community still has access to enchance your games in one way or another.

Server and player managers made by the GET team, Most work done by Avenger, with Bane and Master X

Modded game items, Night enviros, new maps and coop missions, 1 hit server settings, Koth game types, Pff editor, Varous updated or unlock map meds, and other game enchancments. Where given to the community by a number of players. Including :
Bluetiereign, Zac, Charger, Col Pappy, Rustinsk, FwO Raven, and other gamers.

The Reason I added the last part of this post is simple:
No matter how many cheats, ass hats, and just plain dumb asses you run in to playing C4. The good has always out numberd the bad. You just don't see it because it isn't in your face making you angry. But it has always been there. Your game has had something new added to it in the last few weeks with the mod Zac released. With that said find some players you like to game with and play.

Games are for fun. Go have some!.
