It is possible to make the 3di files from the other Nova Games...like LW and TFD available for insertion into C4... Granted, this is a MOD, but it would be nice to have the chance to change the scenery every now and again...and even something as simple as batch files could make switching back and forth a cinch....
The problem is.... Even with all the files the 3di is calling and the 3di itself packed into c4tdata.pff file, the object is not rendering... I guess my question is this..
Does anyone know what needs to be done to the files to get them to work in the C4 engine ? So far as I can tell.. Vlad has been the only one I've seen do it (and that was actually for the BHD mod) - Whatever was done for that - seems to work for C4.
Even if this requires some drawn out editing...I'd be willing to do it....but I'm kinda at a standstill here... Can anybody help ?

novalogic changes the format for 3di every few games DF1 and DF@ were the same DFLW and TFD were the same and C4 and BHD are the same, somone took c4 itams and put them into BHD so to do the reverse should be the same, you need to extract the 3di file, all the textures and the items.def fileand put it into c4 i think but make sure you keep backups.

Thanks for the tip Blackbelt... I tried combining the two but got a sysdump for it. I'm seeking some assistance in the merger of the two files or finding out if it is even possible... if it is... I guess we'll see...

well i am working on something like this myself . im tryn to take amoured fist 3 items and get them into dflw . now i open the pff_7 extractor and open the pff files for AF3 n/p extract the files i want n/p . now i take the files copy and paste them into the dflw.packit lol and they pack n/p buttttttttt allways that but lmao items wont show and i get no system dump . when i pack the af3 items the dos window opens pack's file n/p . from what i understand there is a certin way to rewrite the new file but . i havent been abel to do this , as for they need to have same gm engine df2 works on pixels and dflw works on voxels to different engine's . terranova-exp done a df2/lw items dnld for dflw takeing items from df2 and adding them to dflw pluss the snow weather effect works properly with this dnld . i would say terranova is the only 1's who know this process and are keeping it to them selve's cant really blame them either i guess . otherwise would have every1 under the sun tryn this and doing it :nixweiss.gif:

I spent a great deal of time looking into this and came to basically the same conclusion that is occuring over at Chancellors' site. I gave up on it and headed out to learn some programming with C++ and DirectX..
BTW...it appears that between TFD and C4, Nova dropped calling ddraw and are now using d3d...
Whatever, there will have to be some conversion factors in there...and of course, unless everyone has the MOD....
