Underground AI ?

I've been busy making maps for DFX and have noticed with certain maps a few of the AI make thier way under the terrain and can shoot you , but you can't shoot or see them. Has anyone else noticed this problem? I'm not sure if it is certain terrains that are causing this or what. I've even rechecked the Z value on every AI i've used in 1 map , to make sure I didn't mess that up. It seems to be just 1 or 2 that find thier way under ground , it's always the same location. It's not a big deal if you know just to leave them behind and carry on with the other objectives for the map , but trying to convince other players that join your server can be a royal pain in the butt.Most players refuse to leave behind an enemy that has killed them from under the ground (understandable),and return to the same spot to show them who's boss , just to get killed again ,and again , and again until many just get mad and leave the game, I hate that. Well , just wanted to share that with you all.:waving.gif:

Interesting. Heard of the dying and popping thru tunnels to above ground - but never the other way around. If you now the AI that are doing it... destroy the group after a certain percentage have died or after getting to the next waypoint. You wouldn't consider sending me the map ( .mis too ) and letting me see and play it, would you..?

I sure will Blue i'll send you one of my newer one's that I know has 1 of the AI i'm talking about."Coal Hollow Road" I'll send the mis. and bms. and also some info on where the AI is located.

Did you check that map out yet BTR? Was just wondering.. From what I can tell there a few glitches with a couple of the stock terrains.

I found the map in my 'to do' box last night... so I will be checking it out tonight or tomorrow (depending of the wifey's desires :naughty.gif: ).

If you open a server tonight... maybe you could show me exactly where they are ?

I'll be firing up my server around 9:30 or 10:00 tonight , i've just recently purchased a new router and that seems to have fixed the problems i've been having with people joining. Alright.. had to change the map to daytime to survive, but left everything the same. I found the AI underground at B. Bizarre. Checked everything in the med and don't see the issue. What bothers me is that the issue seems to be on flat terrain - not a place where a terrain should be weak. I'll look into this some more this afternoon.

Thanks for solving that problem BTR , but I usually charge 10 $ for a map , so you can keep my map and just owe me 5$ , deal ? ;) :LolLolLolLol:

It appears it is the skinning of the DF1 LibN, w_NVG and AK 47. There is another character with the NVG and AK47 that works just fine.If you change everyone's accuracy (1 & 2) to 01, you can get close enough to see their muzzle flash.

Conclusion: The AI are not going underground - they are invisible.

BTW, the $5.00 was only for shipping and handling. The price of the fix is... well... lets just say you'll sweeping CPD's floors and cleaning the bathrooms for a little while..
