Hi fellow C4 pilots,

I've had the pleasure of meeting some of you in public games and blown up by most. Over the time that I've played C4, there have always been in-game chats and mentions of multi-fire stinger macros. Some use them; some shun their use completely. There are also occasional mentions of hot gun macros that fire all gun rounds in just a few seconds. This is considered by all a cheat (right?) and not part of this topic.

When I first began playing more than a year ago, I used no macros and fired one stinger per pull, and died constantly. At the suggestion of several pilots, I programmed my trigger to fire 5 stingers at a time. I also programmed guns to fire for as long as I held a button, though the rate of fire was not mucked with.

I took more than a year off of C4 and began playing again about a month ago. The same chats ensue, with some players leaving a game because of multi-fire routines and others continuing to use them. Having made a short story long, how do you pilots feel about stinger routines where several stingers are fired with one button press? Do you consider this cheating?

Having come from Jet sims, which I still play, my real preference would be single fire and single hit (1H) kills. As it stands with 3H and what seems prevalent in most games, I still use ~5-per-pull.

What do you use; what do you think?

Thanks,

Bonefish

When I played I had my trigger set so if i held it down it would fire all stingers. If I just tapped the trigger it would fire 2 or 3. With a logitech stick it's just setting the trigger to fire once and setting it to repeat. That setting will also fire cannons continuously with out effecting the rate of fire. If playing in a 1H server I turn all the repeat rates off. No need for them there. As for cannon macros or hot guns, I don't use em and never allowed them in my server.

I remember when you used to play in my server. Had wondered where you had gone to.

Hey RAB,

Thanks for responding.. Hmmm, I've been watching this thread; actually expected more comments, as this has always been a sore spot in games. I guess most players just want to keep their fire sequences to themselves.

A new job kept me from flying, which just snowballed into not playing at all. I did enjoy your server as there were always fair games and exciting maps. I'm back to getting my butt shot off quite often while getting back into a groove, trying to learn a few new things, and in general loving the game.

There remain enough good clean flying pilots to keep it fun and interesting, as a game should be. I hope you decide to fly again at some point.

Best,

Dave

So what kind of stick do you use. If its a logitech I could send you a copy of the profile I used.

As for coming back to the game. I seriously doubt it. All the BS over the UD and more recently the no fog cheat. And others I'm sure are being used. The community has gone to hell. It used to be full of people willing to help each other and just wanted to have fun and play. Sadly to say those days have passed. True there are still a few good players in the game, But not nearly enough to make it fun for me anymore.

If you ever decide to play BHD though look me up.
