I'm looking for some new coop/sp missions to get blown out of the sky in - haha.

I have the great "Charger"'s latest (I think), The infamous Bryon Smith, The terrific Andrew Mc, and some from "ZAK"'s older small file size maps. Also fortunate enough to have some from Bluetiereign, Avenger, Reaper and a few others. But I'm looking for something new if anyone can point me in the right direction.

If someone is looking for new ideas for missions so they can brew up a new map, I'll be more than glad to provide some good mission ideas and help with the details. Even though I'm not a map maker.

Battery on, fuel on, clear right, clear left, pull the trigger and let's go do some damage!

You might PM Reaper - he may be offering some COOP maps at his nightcrew (http://www.nightcrew-ncs.com/) site. However, due to the fact that there was some stolen software from a fellow community member, I think he has pulled his downloads.

I'm glad you dropped in and requested 'something new' ... you've actually proven the opposite of what the thieves spend much of their time denying. Their 'new life' for the game is now killing it.

You might want to try this site. http://www.c4missions.com/ Think there is 14 single player missions there. There is also a section with tips for map building. If you decide to make any yourself. Been a while since the page has been updated but the download links are still good.

As for the download section at CFS. The only maps available there is Reapers TKOTH server pack. 12 maps for 2 or 4 team play. Good maps but not single player.

I still see servers up and running with the MOD being hosted. Besides, that forum is dealing with the development - not this aspect of it.

Bluetiereign - You are correct, Reaper closed down his downloads. I have some of what he had before closing down, but sure would like to get anything he has. I'll try to PM as you suggested.

Auggie Doggie - Thanks but no C4 coop/sp missions there.

RAB - Already have all of Macca/McPhee maps listed on his site. And got all I could from Bryon's site.

As you all already know, those mappers mentioned above, have put some great stuff together. I played them 2 or 3 times just to see how things would work out with different tactics. Several of the mappers (especialy Bryon) had included different enemy scenarios depending on how the player ran the mission. All have been very interesting and seriously a real joy to play.

I'm not exactly a newbie to C4. Been playng for several years after picking one up at EB. As a retired US Army Helicopter Combat Pilot and Instructor Pilot, I have talked about C4 and recommended it to all that would listen. The graphics, speed, intellegence, and realism are just plain great. In addition to that, those of you that are really good at making missions are to be congratulated to the inth degree on your unique insight, patience, attention to detaiil, and perserverance in making the missions (maps). I myself have a few ideas on missions (taken from some of my expereince in the real world) that I would like to see someone make maps for. Avenger, thought he might have time to build a new campain, but has been too busy.

Bottom line is that you mappers are really great and I would very much like to play anything you have or might come up with. So feel free to write me. I'll take the chance: rwmac22 over at earthlink not com but net (if you get my meaning). Just put Comanche 4 in the subject line so I won't mistake it for junk mail.

Since I'm not in all the gaming sites that most of you are in, I'd appreciate some of you asking others for any C4 maps for coop/sp they may have. Also hope this thread will continue for myself to get input about maps and for any newbies that may be looking for more than those that come with the CD. Possibly, one of you admins could create a thread in here that would contain links to all the sites that do have C4 maps. Just a thought.

Sorry this went on so long. Hope to hear from the mappers and maybe some of the experienced players also.

Hey Mac, nice to see you around sir. Though I haven't made any maps in quite some time now I have recently re-install Comanche 4. I have thought about making something new but trying to find time to even play the game let along open the editor has been a challenge in itself, I sometimes miss it very much. Glad to see your still a C4 fan and hope you find something new to play. The other night when I installed it I went through a few dozen maps, some mine and one made by Bluetiereign called "Taz" which I thought was a cool map. I actually have an unfinished map I was working on a while ago, who know if I can pull of some spare time this week I'll bust it out and see how it goes, its nothing special.

Hello Charger, haven't heard from you since '02 or '03. If everyone reading this thread doesn't know it already, Mr. Charger here is the guy who re-wrote and revised the med3c map maker manual and advanced manual! He also made some of the best missions for sp/coop! He makes them as if you were really having to fly a mission. Take it from this old US Army Helo jock!

You say you have one that you might be able to finish, as time permits, but that it is nothing special. Yea Right! If it's made by Charger, it's something good. I still have and play all your old stuff every now and then, just to keep my skills up. Great Escape 1 & 2, Freelance, Mission X, Moody Point, Mad House, Overkill, Mirage, Scramble, and Omaha 1 & 2, just to name a few. Bet you thought no one still had those, didn't you?

You mention Bleutierein's missions. He, Bryon, Reaper, Avenger, and Zak's (older) stuff are mostly what I play. You guys are all really very good at making the maps. Believe it or not, there are some of the missions made by you guys that come real close to some missions I may have been involved in back in the day. If you know what I mean.

I just wish some of you would consider doing a few of the missions I mentioned earlier in this thread about a Campaign. Write to me at the address I gave and let me know what you think. I can also tell you more of my idea and the reasons for it.

Great to hear from you again Charger, Really!

ZAK, Your comment about the terrific Janes FltSims brings back memories. I think my first FltSim was Gunship from Microprose on a Comodore 64 with external Floppy Drive, a tape player, and a 13" color TV, while I was being stationed out of Weisbaden Germany. Think it was back in '86. As a matter of fact, I have a picture around somewhere with myself sitting in a chair in front of the table with the controls and TV, and my friend/CP sitting behind me in one of those old high kitchen chairs that had retractable steps under it. We are both in our flight suits with our helments on and scarfs waving behind us (had a fan out of picture blowing the scarfs). The apache gunship game is running and visible on the TV screen in front of us. I sent the picture to Microprose. Later, I got to meet Wild Bill from Microprose twice, once before and once after he left Microprose. Also saw Miss Microprose (his Navy airplane). It wasn't until several years later that I got into the great Janes stuff, and still have some, but they won't play on XP without problems of different sorts.

Sorry Everyone! That was way off the focus of my thread here. ZAK hit a nerve. I apologize to all !

ZAK, I'll send you the draft campaign I've started and let you see what you think of it.

Thank you very very much for your interest. I think this campaign will be very interesting and enjoyable for all !

I am happy to report some good news for all C4 coop/sp/mp enthusiasts.

There are several C4 mission builders (I call Master Mappers) that have very generously offered their creativity to build a few maps each, in a Collaborative C4 Campaign.

The Campaign will be made up of many progressive Scenarios (I call them) that include several missions within. Each imbedded mission builds on it's previous one as do the scenarios. The storyline follows the Campaign gameplay timeline.

I don't know if I should open a new thread to keep everyone informed of our progress or not? I'm not sure there are enough people interested in following our progress? Or if they just want to see the Campaign missions published for use when completed?

We are working on the communication and collaboration method now.

There is now a sub-forum for C4 Map Editing. It is currently an open forum Mac. We'll see how much interest there is. The staff and I don't really see the need for a closed forum for mapmaking at the moment - and all but one of us have maps in the downloads section.

If there are 'critical items' you prefer to discuss privately... as members, you may use the PM (Private Message) feature we have.
