I'm attempting to use a little bird for infil, but after it takes off, I can't get off!! I get to my waypoint, the little bird stops, and I'm stuck. It's the Little Bird with benches--well, obviously it has benches. heh heh

Before it takes off, I can get on and off fine; as soon as it leaves the ground, I'm stuck to the bench. What am I missing?

Thanks.

I haven't used BHD for a while but I think you can set an area trigger and set an event in the WAC file to "unseat" you from the chopper...I'm pretty sure Bluetiereign knows the correct routine for this so he will probably reply before I look it up.

Actually, the superglue doesn't seem to be on my feet....

I looked for an event parameter that would unseat me, but didn't see anything. Maybe a Redirect to the first Blue team waypoint? I'll try that...

Thanks to all who replied.

Yeah, I'm still playing BHD... guess I need to go to JO... or is that old, now, too?

Is this for you in a single player mission ? Or a teammate on the mission with you ? Included is a mission to get your teammate off of the chopper. If it is you...

Include in your WAC file:

if event(the choppers reached the waypoint) then
set seatbelt 0
endif

I think he's got a 'seatbelt' on. The first singleplayer mission in BHD used a seatbelt to keep you in the humvee. The 'seatbelt' was released if you made it to an area trigger or waypoint.

It's great for singleplayer missions where you want the player to stay on a vehicle until they get to a certain area - but not so great if you forget to let the person out..lol.

BT, thanks, I'll try that..and it started out as an SP mission, but I may change it to COOP if I can get it to work. However, I've discovered that if my feet can touch the ground, I can get off.. simple, huh?

BUT, when the little bird gets to the final waypoint where I"m supposed to get off, it's 8 feet in the air!! ANd for the life of me, I can't get that thing to land. I've buried the waypoint, set it right on top of the ground, etc., but that little bird gets there, stops, and hovers... and I'm stuck on the bench, 8 feet above the ground.

I set the previous waypoint low, and when the chopper crossed the river, it was low enough that my feet would "hit" the ground on the opposite bank, and I could jump off at that point. Except, that's not where I really want to get off! LOL

I think I'll use a Blackhawk.. they're easier to control!

Umm... the littlebird lands in that mission I included. Check the events and the waypoints maybe ? Good Luck Duder. :)

BT, thanks, I'll take a look at your mission, haven't had time yet. I've checked and re-checked events and waypoints on my map, all looks correct, but I'm missing something. It stops at the waypoint, and hovers....with me securely fastened to the bench!! LOL AAARRGGHHHH!!!

Send me the mission - bluetiereign@checkpointdelta.net . I'll be glad to check it out - and send it back. I really wish Doorway was around - he's forgotten more than I'll ever know about mapmaking. Unfortunately, I think he is having some serious computer problems at the moment.
