Firstly i would like to apologize if this has been posted before, but i have just done an extensive search on both the internet aswell as these forums before posting this.

As an avid fan of C3 i figured that it would be a good time to buy C4 since the price has obviously dropped quite a bit. However, upon installing and runnign it, i run into the following problem:

At first i thought it was a problem with the version i had but then i checked the demo out and it had the same problem.

My specs:
win XP pro
512 mB ram
2.4 Ghz P4
ATI Radeon 9600 128 mB

Any advice?
I already tried fiddling with the ingame graphics options but the problem seems to persist

thank you in advvance and i hope to be soon playing this game the way it was meant to be played!

Have you installed the latest DirectX and Catalysts ?

yeah, what he said. lol plus if that doesn't fix it you might want to 1) update the game 2) after updating, download the version 2 "fixed" from here 3) make sure your windows xp is up to date 4) check the agp settings in your bios and make sure that the "aperture" is at least 64 (128 or 256 might work better), and also you might have to tweak video settings (depends on mobo)

Thanks for the help, however, the problem persists.

I have currently:
DX version 9c
The latest catalyst version
Aperature set to 128 then tried 256
downloaded version 15 then 20 from here
Tried the lowest settings for the game,
then tried the default settings for my setup the game gives me.

Still no luck :(

I think it might be a problem with the vertex shaders.... however, im not that sure.

The problem with the world items being black goes away when the cursor is over them. However, the cockpit randomly flashes funney colours at all times or just stayes blank.

Any other causes for this problem?

Once again thank you in advance...

I've only ever had the video corruption when alt-tabbing from desktop to the game. I assume you've tried different resolutions. you might try different bios settings - turn off video shadowing, toggle spread spectrum, the usual stuff, etc. don't know what else to suggest trying. oh, wait, you could contact novalogic tech support (har har har that was a joke) good luck oops forgot one thing - I did have a card once that didn't like the latest drivers- so if all else fails, try an earlier version of the driver. also, with the catlayst drivers sometimes its best to just install the driver, and not all the other crap, until you know its working right (when you install driver select custom, then just check the driver and uncheck all the other stuff)
oops one more thing - you did load the latest mobo drivers, right ? the vgart or equiv. mobo driver is kinda important.
